Lower expectations

After a second year of no raise I have decided to lower my standards. I am getting no bites on jobs in my field so I applied to Target. It would be a substantial pay cut and I would have trouble seeing my T. I just give up.

Sorry to hear-dont give up though, its very common nowadays for companys to never offer a raise, until you tell them you quit. Every raise i have ever recieved in the last fifteen years was after i let them know i was resigning. Once went seven years without a raise. Changed jobs at a reduced pay once but it was my choice on that one.

Don't give up, Crook32. Have you already tried to personaly ask for a raise? Maybe that could help. I know how frustrating these kind of things can be. Are you sure you want to change your job? Do you have a plan? Are there other reasons you want to change your job? I think it's something to consider, especially if it would result in a pay cut. Perhaps talk to your T about this? Work and project wise I don’t want to leave. But all the people that control my career have been discriminating, harassing, and retaliating against mean but I can’t get anyone to listen. T and pdoc both want me to leave.

Just leave on good terms , give notice. You don’t want to burn a bridge even tho they deserve it.

Can you handle such a pay cut ?

I would still hold out for a better position else where, it’s the holidays and end of the year most places just hold out before hiring until after the first.

Just a though to hang on until you get interviews, I never once took a pay cut as I was barely making bills with current jobs and I worked in health care. I had some horrible working conditions for jobs , lots of doctors thought they were god. Bleh
