Have you got any "horror" stories about ingesting such products? I have a bone to pick with me chemist over generic pregabalin. This **** make me dizzy in a bad way. I usually get a nice smooth buzz lol. Discuss

Generic's are supposed to have the same amount of active ingredients as brand name. I have noticed a difference though especially with benzo's Klonopin in particular.

I can get rid of a headache with generic aspirin but Bayer brand makes me vomit every time. Generic Seroquel is quicker acting for me too.

I have noticed a difference in some of the generics just recently my pharmacy switched Seroquel manufactures and the last manufacture knocked me out fifteen minutes after taking it and on the new pill I can sleep it's just very interrupted as opposed to the other brand. So it also varies between generics too apparently.

I've honestly never noticed, I've mostly only taken generics anyway

I've had a few problems with generics, especially when the pharmacy switches generic brands.

I have had my doctors specify which generic brand is acceptable on the prescription. I get that generic brand 90% of the time now.

"Such products"? That makes them seem like you think they are the anti Christ or something. I have never had any problems with any generic versions of medications ever, and I've taken many of their brand name equivalents, too, but only because in the beginning the generics weren't yet available. I am very thankful for generics. They save me thousands of dollars every year.

I realize that sometimes inactive ingredients in meds can cause problems for the occasional person, and that on rare occasions the manufacturers don't produce the product up to par, but I believe these are rare issues.

I've had no problems with generics. Sometimes they actually work better than the brand.

I suppose different meds work for different people, megabytesteve. If they don't work for you, that's ok. Perhaps you can talk to your Pdoc about this? Maybe that can help. Hopefully you'll be able to change meds and feel better soon. Sending many hugs to you

I’ve taken brand names and generics and never had a problem or noticed any difference.

I also would like to complain that they only do it with my pain (expensive) meds. The ones I actually give a hoot about. Antidepressants and antipsychotics are left the unchanged. But I'm aware of the psychological play it has over me because of my inability to trust people and the simple fact that it sometimes that the only thing different is the packaging...

I use the "Valium" effect of lyrica in high doses to help with anxiety and believe it or not, depression. But I'm also a recreational consumer so I expect nothing but the best as can be.

Wow. The plot thickens.

The meds are fine. It's just the generic one that peed me off. I'm not going to hide my substance abuse. But that doesn't mean my point isn't valid. But thanks

I've had no problems with generics. My husband has thyroid issues & he does notice a difference between Synthroid and levoxyl.

It can be the filler inactive ingredients that differ that cause issues for some people. My husband is very sensitive to medications to start with such as pain relievers he had to take after back surgery. One time he took one capsule of my muscle relaxer (tizanidine) and got extremely dizzy and exhausted, but I can take up to 4 in a day. Even if I took 4 of the tizanidine at once, it would probably give me a 50/50 shot at sleep. He is a foot taller than I am and nearly 100 lb. more in weight.
