Hi guys, this is my first post so sorry if it's a bit awkward

I got diagnosed with bipolar 2 in January last year and it hasn't really gotten better since starting Lamictal (might even feel like it has gotten worse)

Anyway I have noticed that I've been avoiding talking to people in my life and have lost a few connections since I started taking the medication. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

For some reason I have eliminated almost everyone in my life except for my wife and son. I lost touch with all of my family and friends. I am content to be lonely though.

My circle of people got very small once I mentally exploded with Bipolar.

Some friendships fell by the way side.

Sad but it’s just my reality.

My family forces their way in to my life which is good. If they didn't I'd be just my husband and son.

Very few people end up using the medication they were put on when first diagnosed - usually it is a trial and error process, with many trials and many errors. Maybe Lamictal isn't your thing. Your prescriber needs to know that you think it Lamictal has made things worse, not better, and about the social withdrawal symptoms you are experiencing. If you keep reading the board, you will see how many failed medications people have taken on here.
