Many years ago, I made a routine out of not having any routine. Sry.

Cheers.

Routine is a word I deplore, it just sounds so boring. I usually get up around 6 or a little before. This year I have about a 45 minute drive to work so my mornings are a bit more compressed than last year. I make coffee and either watch live cal news or something on Netflix for a bit. Breakfast depends on mood and how mu stomach is feeling. I may not eat breakfast or I may eat something, usually quick and light. Then I make sure I have everything I need, I can be very forgetful, so there is sometimes a dash around looking for...whatever I have misplaced. then it’s off to work.

The only thing that matters right away is to brush my teeth and wash my face. Try to eat something , Shower comes later after I clean my house ( ocd) thing daily.

Roam Facebook and PC.

The rest of my day revolves around if I have an appt anywhere.

Later is dinner, dishes , Facebook and PC ..... I’m obsessed with a indie writer on my kindle, so I read a lot then hopefully sleep reasonably well

Wash rinse repeat.

During the week I set my alarm for 7, 7:05, 7:10, 7:15, and 7:30. I actually get out of bed at 7:30. The first thing I do is get my kids out of bed and have them get dressed. Then they brush their teeth (I brush my youngest’s teeth). They eat at school because I got so tired of making them food that they would never eat and then just waste time. Then, I fix both my daughters’ Hair and brush my son’s hair. Then I get coats/gloves/etc , get their backpacks and have them watching for the bus by 8. It comes between 8:03 and 8:05. From 8 until 8:10 I chill. Then I get up, get dressed, brush my teeth (if I haven’t already), straighten my hair, put on makeup if I’m going to. Then I make coffee, make my protein shake and my lunch and take meds while I’m waiting on coffee. I’m out the door by 8:35, 8:40. I drink my coffee and my protein shake between the drive to work and the first 20 or so minutes of work. I’m usually at work by 8:50, 8:55.

Sat mornings, I usually hang out with my kids (hubby is at work) and Sun I either sleep in or go to Church (although you currently wouldn’t even know I’m a Christian because I’m a cussing, raging ***** or so it seems to me).

Thank you for this post. Processing information is helping the fire in my brain.

I try to get out and see family a couple of times a week but mostly I stay home and read, rest, watch TV, run errands and generally pace around looking for something to do that won't break me physically.

However this 'schedule' changes dramatically depending on my mood, how I am doing physically, and whether or not I am able to go to university and work. I prefer to be busy but take each day as it comes.
I am so ****ing jealous of you getting to swim in the ocean. I would say that in all my years, the only “thing” that has ever made me manic other than a stressful event, is the ocean. The last time I visited the beach, was 8 years ago this June. EIGHT!!!! Years! I’ll never forget walking on the beach one late evening by myself, dressed in regular clothing, worshipping the Lord very loudly, hands extended until finally, with a red flag up, jumping in because the Holy Spirit told me to. 😉 The tide was so strong, it took my flip flops but it was absolutely, incredibly magical. I literally yearn for the ocean sometimes. Thank God we’re going back this year!!!! Hopefully I will be a little more sane on this trip (or maybe not because, aside from the danger and insanity of the week, it sticks out as the greatest memory of my life, minus my kiddos birth).

Me too. I completely agree!

So, I have started doing this and wow! It has been absolutely wonderful. I am remodeling our bedroom, so at the moment, we are in a very small room and turning on the light is guaranteed to wake up my wife . So, every morning, I have been playing the game of "don't wake the bear"
Usually, the result of this is that I fumble around for my clothes, try to find my wallet and keys, inevitably stub my toe , trip over kitty one, try to dodge kitty two, reach around for my glasses, medications, and backpack. Then, I go out to the room outside the temporary bedroom and go about my routine.

This has always started my day off one the wrong foot. Now, I followed what you said and my mornings are much less hectic and are actually very nice. Now, the most complicated part of the AM is making my coffee
Thank you for this I sincerely recommend this for everyone who wants to make their morning a little less crazy.

Thank you so much for making this thread, BonsaiGuy! And thank you so much for sharing your mornings, everyone. I hope it will help some people here on PC. Usually I just get up to go to university, make breakfast and put my clothes on. Ohterwise, I just try to relax as much as possible. All of you guys have pretty busy mornings, busier than many other people I believe. Be proud of yourself for that! Sending many hugs to everyone
