My dog is my best friend and I'm about to lose her and and all of the emotions I'm feeling are really hard I don't know how I'm going to get through this and sit by her side but she's struggling but I don't know how I'm going to have the courage the day comes and I have to make that decision I'm having a really rough day really rough time. She's my best friend and she's by my side do some of my darkest moments in my brightest days she's listening to me I can talk to her I know that sounds crazy but I have a lot of conversations with her they've all been pretty much one-sided but once in a while she does trying you know speak up haha when she's gone I'm going to be lost I'm going to be alone I don't have many friends and my heart is aching cuz I don't know what to do

there is no reason for your angst, is there? please don't fear what can not be in our power to change. please try to embrace your love for your fellow friend and be there when she needs you. she will remember your courage and your bravery and she will always reflect what is in your heart, until her last days, even then she will live on within you. don't fear to speak up for her when she needs you. don't fear to speak up for yourself. your courage and bravery will shine. I am sorry for you loosing your friend

I'm so sorry - I can imagine how you must be feeling, because my dog is also my other half and I don't know what I'll do the day he passes on.

You need to just keep reminding yourself that they will tell you when the time is right. They don't want to be in constant physical pain, which comes with old age, and you making the decision to let them go of their misery is the bravest, yet kindest thing you can ever do. It is very self-less, as it is painful for you, yet setting her free.

Allow yourself the time to grieve when the time comes. I have a few animals in my life, and I would try distract myself by giving my time, energy and love to them, which is exactly what your beloved pet will want you to do....

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.

how long do you think she has left?. what kind of dog is she?

when I was a kid, I had a yorkshire terrier called roxy. I can still remember the day I found out she died... she'd gone to the vet for a checkup, and in short the vet rang to say she would be too weak to come back

devistating, for not only me but also my sister who adored that dog

I understand how you feel. I've lost a few pets in my life, including one that helped me through my worst years of my illness. Losing anyone you love is hard as hell, but that's the way it is, unfortunately. Know that your lost loved ones will be with you forever.

Do take the time you need to grieve.

She's a Chihuahua and terrier mix, we're not sure how long she has left she's got a lot of blood in her stool and she starting to be in a lot of pain so what time is coming soon because I don't want her to suffer.

My dog Rosie is my only best friend so I know exactly how you feel. It is one of the most painful things to go through when you lose your fur baby. I lost 3 of my fur babies within 8 months of eachother about 2 years ago. I was devastated. Then I went to a kill shelter and saved my Rosie girl, actually we saved eachother. I talk to her everyday about everything and they do listen. Please know I am here for you when the time comes to give your baby peace and comfort. That is the best gift you can give her if she is struggling.
I know you can never replace your baby but there are so many fur babies that need mommies like you. In my thoughts and prayers.

I just lost my soulmate doggie, Leo right before Christmas to lung cancer. He was such a huge part of my life & we went everywhere together & he taught me what Love really feels like. He taught me love while still being independent. He was always there to comfort me & I was always there for him. Last summer was the first time in 16 years I had to take a trip without him & he was diagnosed with a lung tumor the week I got home. My life will never be the same without him....neither will my farm because we found my farm together & came here together to start a new life.

Life goes on & I still love the life we established here but the hole in my heart is huge & there is not a day that goes by that I don't have tears of missing him. This is the hardest loss I have ever experienced & I have lost both my parents.

I understand how you are feeling & it is so very hard. I realize how blessed his life made me & his place in my heart will ALWAYS be there.....but the loss hurts but I am so thankful for the love we shared.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. A dog will forever leave a pawprint on your heart. What keeps me going is knowing I will see all my fur babies again one day over that Rainbow bridge.

Ah thank you Yes, Leo never was trained but never left my side except when he wanted to explore or chase the neighbors cows. I know he will be the first one running to greet me & give me his kisses.

What keeps me going right now also is Leo's older sister (almost 18) & his younger brother (12). They both have health issues that require my constant care now too....they are my family.
