I was told that the mood stabilizer I'm on is helpful for eating disorders (I have struggled with bulimia for many years). I'm on Trileptal 1200mg, generally what seems to be popular for decreasing binges which is also helpful for Bipolar is Topamax, a related anticonvulsant. My doctor initially put me on 900mg of Trileptal for mood stabilization after switching over from Depakote, it was chosen over Topomax because I guess it has less side effects and is tolerated better. Anyway, eventually I had a major eating disorder relapse and it was increased to 1200mg. I can say I don't binge eat anymore, I also don't purge. However I have gone back to restricting. I think overall my cravings are under control, but restricting is bad too and I'm working on CBT and DBT to help work on my weight obsession.

I hope the prozac helps you, it has helped a lot of people. I've heard good things about Vyvanse but I don't know much about it.

I'm on 30mg of vyvanse for binge eating and it keeps me from being drowsy. It does cause me to have more mid level manic episodes. But it does help keep my depression phase too only one week or less and when I do get depressed Its pretty mild.

Prozac was the very first medication they tried me on; I was on various dosages for about a month and a half for depression/anxiety and I did alright on 20 I mean it helped a little; but when he put me on 40 the depression/anxiety came back with a vengeance and I just felt worse on the 40's. So I switched to Effexor which was way way way worse.

I hope the prozac works for you; although I never tried it for binge eating. Good Luck I was on Vyvanse when I was a teenager for ADHD and I was never hungry on it; I would eat small meals; granted it could have been the fact I was active in sports and felt pressure to maintain the weight I was at that time.
