I have been having it a “ little” rough lately. Anxiety, suicidal etc. I went home from work crying Wednesday, called out Thursday and early Friday I had a therapy appointment. During this appointment it was determined I was going to start partial hospitalization within 30 minutes of my therapy session ending. I did not have time to call work so my intention was to do it on our first break. Well, I am a punctual person so when I did not show up apparently people were freaking out. There was a managers meeting held and they decided to call the police to do a wellness check. By the time I found out I had already used the call out line to let them know I was going on leave. it will probably be a few weeks before my return. Should I send an apology email thanking them for their concern and apologize for the lack of prompt communication?

I think you should thank them when you're well again. They know where you are and that you're safe. Just focus on recovery for now.

I agree with fern that you need not contact them until you are a bit better. As for what to say, that's up to you, but I don't think you need to apologize for anything given the circumstances. A thank you for their concern sounds nice, though. You are lucky that your employer cares enough to have done that. That's not the case for many people.

I’m glad your getting the treatment you need right now. You must have a wonderful boss to care for you. Most now a days could care less about there employees.

Thank then when you get back to work.

Last year my employer did the same thing to me (good thing because I decided to attempt suicide instead of go to work). I didn't thank them because I was pissed, but now I kinda wish I did. I'd say go for it, even if it's not genuine it's better.

The focus is yourself right now, @Bipolarchic14! Focus on your own health! KEEP FIGHTING AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN! You can always thank them later if you wish to do so! I don't think you have anything to apologize for! After all, you've done nothing wrong! Still, it's your choice. Just stay safe and take GREAT care of yourself, the care that you need and deserve! In short, I agree with ALL the other wise, wonderful posters! Sending many safe, warm hugs to you, @Bipolarchic14, your Family, your Friends, your Colleagues and ALL of your Dear Wonderful Loved Ones! KEEP FIGHTING AND KEEP ROCKING AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN LIKE YOU'RE ALREADY WONDERFULLY DOING! YOU'RE AWESOME, YOU'RE IMPORTANT, YOU MATTER, YOU'RE WONDERFUL AND YOU'RE WORTH IT! THAT'S A PROMISE! PLEASE BELIEVE THAT AND REMEMBER THAT AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN BECAUSE IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE! KEEP FIGHTING AND KEEP ROCKING AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN LIKE YOU'RE ALREADY WONDERFULLY DOING! PLEASE NEVER GIVE HOPE! YOU MUST ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING!
