I am still thinking about you both. I am glad they admitted him to the hospital and is getting IV antibiotics. I hope they make him feel better and they narrow down a diagnosis quickly.

While I would never wish anyone had to go to the hospital, I am glad he is at least in a safe place where he can get the help and treatment he needs.

Hopefully you get answers soon and that he recovers quickly. You're a real trooper.

He still has a 102 temp.

He was very confused didn’t know the day and thought it was 2017, he’s starting to clear up now about 6 hours on IV’s so dehydration and electrolytes being off could have been causing the confusion.

His potassium is very low, sodium too, his white count and platelets are both low also.

He’s on a cardiac monitor since low potassium can cause arrhythmia.

They are doing lab work every 6 hours and are repeating blood cultures.

He’s on numerous IV’s potassium will be running almost all night and they started him on Doxicycline. the tick titer testing takes 48+ hours, Doxi is the first Med used for tick borne illness if that is what is going on.

I’m very stressed of course, but I’m handling it all.

I’m keeping his boys informed along with his Sister.

Right now I’m sitting here watching him try to sleep. I will head home late tonight and be back by 6 am. I have to take care of the dogs, they can only hold things for so long.

So yeah .... now I’m going to wander the forum and try to think about something else.

Thank all of you for your continued support

Christina, I do hope your hubby woke up feeling a little better this morning. I hope the doctors have gotten a hold of what is making him sick. I also understand the stress you're under because of worry and being at a hospital. I've been there with my husband.

So glad your H is safe and getting treatment! I’ve been there and know how scary it can be. Hopefully when you go home you can relax a bit in the knowledge that he’s being monitored and safe, and you can get some sleep!!

Thanks for the update, Christina. I think it will be a relief when you know exactly what is causing your husband's symptoms.

In all honesty, you're doing really well with a very challenging situation.

Ok Doctor was here, his blood work , she wants to see more improvement in , his white count itsstill lower than normal, platelets also ,his potassium level is still low that has to be fixed as that can cause heart arrhythmias, no results back on the tick titer yet, hopefully tomorrow. She said she “” may”” discharge tomorrow But makes NO promises. He had a fever last night so she prefers to keep someone til they go 24 hours with no temperature.. he is able to stand and walk today and not fall down. So some good improvement, of course he wants to go home right now, getting grouchy is a good sign for him !

We just need to know what caused all this mess.. if it indeed was from a tick bite we need to know the specific one so treatment he’s already on will continue or if something else is needed.

Meanwhile I have not slept in over 48 hours , living on soda , coffee and energy shots,

So I will be very relieved when he gets discharged whether it be tomorrow or the next.

Fingers crossed this will all work out

Thank you all so much !

I hope that you are getting some rest and your husband is feeling better. All those electrolytes being off can make you feel really lousy so hopefully that improves soon.

Thinking of both of you.

More good news , his brain MRI was clear. Thank god!!

But now his blood pressure is very low , bolus of mag and potassium, it brought it up a small amount.

Maybe discharged tomorrow since fever is gone.

Waiting on results from the tick bite.
I just need something to connect the dots. Maybe tomorrow answers can be found.

Exhausting !

She far Tick test is negative , but will be retested in 4-6 weeks , As it sometimes it takes time to show. Discharging later today as long as his blood pressure doesn’t go low again , like last night They did find on his pituitary gland it has a “flat area, “ so he needs to see a specialist, Endochrinologist for exam and possibly more testing, but keep this under your hat , Steve doesn’t want to let the his boys know...

They still don’t know what has caused the whole mess to begin with.

Thanks again everyone !

Hope you can keep him resting. He still needs healing. Some people, they think oh yay I'm discharged I can do everything again, but they still need rest. You too. I hope you both can take it easy and get quiet time and rest in the coming days
