Tdoc put the following diagnosis on my aftercare sheet:
Behavior Problem and MH04: Psychosis or Mania WITH Agitation. Anyone have a clue what this means? MH04?

I've never heard of "MH04" before. I tried googling around, but I mostly found immunology, chemistry, and Mumbai stuff.
My guess is "MH" means "mental health" and the "04" is some kind of code in a diagnostic handbook. For example, the F31.9 entry in the ICD is for bipolar. |

Right? I can't find it on google anywhere. I bet you're right that MH means mental health.

Hopefully you can get an answer from your pdoc. I also could not find much. I wonder since it comes before "psychosis or mania" with a ":" if it's an abbreviation that means "formal diagnosis" or something, followed by your diagnosis of psychosis or mania. This is the best guess I can come up with and I wouldn't bet anything on it.

All I found is "MH04 MENTAL HEALTH - ASSESSMENT". So your T probably did an assessment and dx. was Psychosis or Mania WITH Agitation.

Huh, interesting. So maybe "behavioral problem" just means "mental health problem"?

We can guess all day but the only person who knows is your psychiatrist. Next time you see him/her tell him/her that the diagnostic code confuses you and makes you anxious. He/she should give you an honest explanation.

My guess is it means there is some sort of behavioral or emotional disturbance. For example, maybe you're bouncing your leg, talking very fast, or acting twitchy. I think "problem" should have been replaced with "disturbance," because "problem" makes it sound like you're misbehaving. |

The "behavior" part might refer to "Behavioral Health". Why is mental health care called "behavioral health"? Talk about stigma! I sure wish the medical field would change the term.

You all are going to love this. Tdoc doesn't know what MH04 means either. Apparently it is some weird coding system just for their hospital. She picked the code most similar to "hypo/mania," which apparently is a "behavior problem" in their system. Mystery very unsatisfactorily solved!

I hate it when they call it "behavioral health". Like we're the way we are on purpose.

I googled it and this is what I got -
-The Drunkard -The University of Auckland -Manor House -Citizens Fling FCP -Baby Daddy Update Who gives a BLEEP what it means. Specific MI diagnoses mean nothing......my p-doc always says "something's up, not sure what it is, let's just treat the symptoms". Sorry.......in a ranting mood. Focus on getting better, one day at a time. Words on paper don't mean ****. |
