I got a letter for disability accommodations at college. It was suggested I do so-so my pdoc wrote one. Either he’s misspoke or is crazy. He wrote my diagnoses on there. Bpd is missing but bp and ptsd are on there with “conduct d/o confined to family context.”
Umm I’ve never been violent in my life. I’ve never been in a physical altercation or hit anyone. I don’t even spank kids. So I called pdoc office and asked for an explanation. Waiting for call back.

He could be crazy, but I’m not getting that sense. I do think he should have discussed the content of the letter with you before submitting it.
He could be trying to protect you. Perhaps you can get all of the accommodations you need with the PTSD and BP diagnoses, so he left BPD off because it wasn’t needed and unfortunately still carries a significant negative stigma. I hope you get the answers and accommodations you deserve.

I agree with the above. There is unfortunately (still) a significant negative stigma associated with BPD so this may be why he was inaccurate, he was actually trying to protect you. These are my thoughts anyway. I hope you get the accommodations you deserve

So apparently he used my ip dx from My most recent hospitalization which I don’t get but whatever. Also-that Er obviously didn’t know me. My pdoc said it was not his dx. His are bp1 and ptsd.

What does d/o mean?
When I got a disability letter for college, they didn't include a diagnosis, just said the accommodations I needed. |

My daughter is a disability accommodations liaison for a very large university. You can't get an accommodation without disclosing your disability. That's pretty standard. How would the disability office know what you need if they don't know what you have?

You can address the questionable diagnosis at your next Pdoc appt.
The focus is you got a letter that will allow you to get accommodations going back to college. Don’t sweat it

I agree with Christina -- try to focus on the fact you're getting accommodations now that you have the letter.
![]() I'm sure it's annoying/irritating that you have "conduct disorder" written in your pdoc's letter, but you can't change the fact your school has already read the letter. You can try to get the diagnosis "fixed" for the future, but between now and your pdoc appt, try your best to let it go so that you don't stress too much over it or get too frustrated. You want to do well in school and you don't need the added stress. ![]() |

Well it was given to me at ip. I told my psyd and said it’s a dx for children and that it doesn’t fit nearly anything I struggle with. So whoever gave it to me must have been confused or something. Anyhow it’s not o. My record as an official dx from my pdoc. Just hospital discharge.
