What are all my peeps doing for easter? Hopefully no one finds easter to be triggering. I know this year will be tough.

I'm not religious, but I normally go over my parents' house. However, they are not very sanitary and I'm concerned they may have the virus, so I will just chill at home and watch some TV. I will definitely do some FaceTime with my parents, though.

hope you're able to find one!

my dad found one this morning apparently when he went shopping (although I don't eat ham, so I don't know exactly what he got, but it wasn't breakfast ham slices). seems like some stores have it in stock still, if you're willing to go in instead of doing pickup or delivery.

I'm watching live-streamed mass, and making BBQ country style pork ribs, baked beans, and vegetables for dinner

That's great!

I never knew that churches did livestream masses. That's awesome they can reach out to people that way.

Enjoy your Easter dinner when easter comes

My religious days ended in college and only return during some of my manias. Nevertheless, I have always celebrated on the day.

Since my mother passed away about 15 years ago, my husband and I usually still enjoyed an Easter dinner with my dad. It actually became the one holiday that I hosted (when well enough), though usually only my dad, brother, and Dad's past girlfriend attended. This year it will likely just be hubby and me. I thought about inviting my brother, but maybe think it's best not to. He may not even want to come, because of the pandemic. I just decided that I will make a Czech dish. It is boiled beef (it's better than it sounds) with a fresh dill cream sauce served with Czech bread dumplings and some veggie side or salad. Today I am making a dessert called "Banana and White Chocolate Blondie Tart".

I feel bad for families that usually get together for a big meal But with COVD its just not safe to have family and friends over, altho I know some people that are doing it.. I cant imagine taking that risk of possibly infecting a loved one.. No way !

I'm not sure what I'm making for Easter, it wont be a traditional meal since its just my husband and I.. maybe some BBQ meatballs ??

I hope everyone has a great holiday and I am so glad that Churches across the country are doing Video services

We usually get lamb with real mint sauce and other fixings and eat at my mom's place but I don't think we are doing that this year. Probably won't be any different than a usual day. Church is still closed too.

Mum will watch the nearby church service on TV, then when her church comes on the radio then she listens to that. Then we plan on getting a ham dinner to go from a local restaurant that is serving traditional ham dinners. Well that is the plan but now we might be having 4-7 inches of that lovely white stuff so we'll have to see if it's drivable around lunch time.

When I was a kid everyone got a new outfit and dressed up for church and my stay at home dad would get dressed up and go to church too. Was exciting to wake up Easter morn and hunt for eggs and candy then get all dressed up. That just sort of went away.

Normally we have a big get together at my mom and dad’s. We have a huge feast and all the kids do an egg hunt. In lieu of the virus however, my husband and I are making a big breakfast and then a small feast for dinner. We’re also going to go outside tomorrow night after the kids go to sleep and hide a bunch of eggs so they won’t have to miss out entirely. Tomorrow we’re going to dye eggs and make a banana cream pie...yummy!

I usually hide an Easter basket with all types of goodies, books, games and fun stuff. This year I canceled Easter. I said I'll make it up but being unable to wander the store to find cool little trinkets and things. I just couldn't do it. It's a big commercial holiday in house. We usually have H's fav. meal. So it's going to be just another day.

i will be alone. I guess I might try to make something for dinner that is cheery and fun, but not sure what that will be, Ham is not really a for-one thing...

It’s not terrible I guess. Usually my church has services in the evening so I’d get to go still. But of course it’s all online right now because of the virus.

I’m more sad I’m up so

Oh yuck... I hate snow! We had some yesterday, but none of it stuck (fortunately). I hope the snow isn't too bad for you guys.

When I was a young kid, my parents would give me a new outfit too and dress up for church. They always made me wear dresses and I despised dresses. Then when we got home from church, I would rip off the stupid dress and put on those fantastic 90s sweatpants. Then I'd put on my fancy fanny pack and put those plastic eggs in it while I hunted them.

That's great! Glad your kids will be able to hunt some eggs.

Dyeing eggs is fun too. I remember when my sister and I did that as kids.

Not doing much for Easter this year thanks to our current world situation lol. Family gatherings cancelled.

Today I'm going up to my mom's to pick up a couple things she bought for me. We'll stand outside and talk a bit 6 feet+ apart.

Tomorrow on Easter I am just staying home. Will cook dinner but nothing fancy. Will probably call my dad. My son is older so he doesn't do the whole Easter basket and egg hunt thing anymore.

As I am reading this I am eating pink Easter peeps. Saving the yellow ones for Easter.

Looking forward to live streamed Easter vigil service tonight. My church has really worked hard to create community during this time.

We are also expecting a big snowstorm. I am excited to go out and walk in the snow...probably later tonight. Right now its sunny. I went early to the grocery store. It almost immediately started to get crowded...everyone shopping before the store.

On Easter I will probably watch movies and drink non-alcoholic beer, and eat my yellow peeps. Even though I live alone I always dye eggs at Easter but this year didn't feel in the mood

Hi @bpcyclist. Do they sell thick ham steaks in your area? They're always yummy and no more than two to max three servings. You could even decorate it with a couple pineapple rounds and Maraschino cherries, and a brown sugar or maple glaze. Even stick a few cloves in it. That would be ultra traditional in my area. Just a idea to consider.

In the summer, I just pan fry a ham steak and serve it with a quick fresh fruit salsa (peach, nectarine, or mango chunks with chopped red or green onion, chopped red bell pepper, optional jalapeno pepper bits, lime juice, chopped fresh mint or cilantro, and salt/pepper. The whole thing takes about 5 minutes to make.
