There was another thread about this, but I suggest to anyone and everyone that you get exercise every day: I've been taking long walks, just around my apartment complex, every day with a friend on the phone. It's raining today, so I was going to do a home exercise program, though I don't know if I'll feel well enough. But the point is, exercise helps SO much both physically and emotionally.

Stay safe and good luck to everyone!
I hope you get your results back soon and start feeling better quickly

This shelter in place thing is mind boggling. How is it going to work? How long is it going to last? Why every time we have a disaster, government is entirely unprepared. Ugh hugs all, we will make it through

That's UK pretty much on lockdown. You can leave the house for the following reasons

1. If you are a Key Worker ie Doctor/Nurse etc someone on the frontline

2. If your a retail worker going or coming back from work.

3. Walking pets alone

4. 1 daily outing a day that's benefitting your health alone

5. If you are going for essentials ie food/medicines/medical treatment

Everything is locked ie pubs, clubs, restaurants, fun things, theatres, swimming pools, leisure and cultural things. Take away places fit food most have closed. If they are delivering it's only credit/debit card which you pay online no handling of cash or contacts with you.

** Police have the authority to question your where-abouts if outside. You out be fined if your not being safe**

I think that's about right nothing else to report. I'm really worried that the police are going to arrest me for going to check on my flat while I'm staying at my parents. But my paranoia means I must check my flat every 4 days. It's a complete pain

Allegheny County, PA is officially in lock-down as of 8 PM this evening. For those of you who celebrate, it's going to be a very unusual Pesach.

I live in Ohio and we were just given the order on Sunday. This is some serious stuff going down. I am going to have a problem staying home. I am not a home body. I live close to a covered bridge so I will probably mosey on down there every once in while. I can already feel my anger getting out of hand. I hope I don't go manic. I don't get the happy manic. I get irritable and very angry. I've been writing in my journal and listening to music and playing with my kitties. I hope everyone else is doing okay so far.

NJ has a stay at home order from our governor. There are now several cases of the covid 29 virus in my state, including some in my town. Most everyone is home and most all non-essential stuff is cancelled/closed. There are still select eating joints offering takeout or delivery. We'll see if/when that changes. Many people who can are still working, but from home, including my husband.

We're official here now too.

To me it is a good chance to be able to do a lot of drawing, jewelry, little projects and some spring cleaning. I love my room.

My teddy bear is thrilled. We get to hang out all the time now!

I *do* have to deal with filing for temporary unemployment -- a loathsome chore -- but if I can get past that, it should be alright.

We've got this. We're all in this together, and I'm glad to have such a great bunch of folks to be here with.

Like California and Washington state, Oregon is on lockdown too. My family and I are already bored and step lightly around each other so we don't kill each other! We missed our Mexican Riviera cruise too because Carnival shut down the ships.

Seriously, I am SO over this. Unfortunately, there are sick folks in this house (none have COVID-19) and we'll be quarantined for awhile. My SIL and I are the only healthy ones here. He never gets truly sick, and my own immune system is strong enough to fight off the squirrels in the backyard. I'm not worried about us, I'm just worried about my son who is hacking up a lung thanks to influenza B and pneumonia, our family friend who's staying with us because her mother won't let her come home, and my son's MIL who has a nasty case of bronchitis. Wheeeee!

We locked down fairly quickly, like 2 weeks ago I want to say? However, I was isolating myself for at least 4 weeks before that.

Yeah, I'm not coping well with this. I was feeling fine for about 6 weeks, but then depression hit me like a truck. I would normally go to a store or something like that when depressed and just make a purchase to give me something new to do for when I get back. Now? I can't go anywhere and I feel awful. However, the lockdown situation is not why I'm depressed. I just happened to have a random depressive episode, and it sucks. The lockdown isn't allowing me to go out very far, except to the pharmacy, so fresh air is limited to walking around outside my complex. But at the same time, there is lots of snow everywhere and it's not really easy to walk right now. Now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place... It's awful.

I live in NY state and the governor signed something called New York on Pause executive order which became effective Sunday night.

Governor Cuomo Signs the 'New York State on PAUSE' Executive Order | Governor Andrew M. Cuomo

I’ve just been staying inside totally. My meds can be delivered now since CVS is doing free delivery for prescriptions and other essentials.
My psychiatrist, therapist, and care manager are all doing our appointments over the phone for now. So the only reason I have to go out is to grocery shop which won’t be until the 2nd when I have money. Only thing that sucks is I have to take public transportation in order to get there and back because I don’t drive. and there aren’t grocery stores in walking distance from where I live.

I feel so bad for you, blue. The snow really complicates life, I would think.

I also live in an apartment complex. Not really anywhere to sit outside. Right now, I wish I had a back yard. The only places I go are an occasional trip to the grocery store and once a week to the laundromat. Washing my clothes has never been so exciting. At least I can stare at a different wall.

Colorado isn't yet in full lockdown. Our gov. says "The Grim Reaper" will have the final say. I think what he means is...if you have a pre-existing condition it is a no brainer to self-isolate in the wake of a highly contagious and possibly fatal illness.

I am recovering from a months long battle with a chronically inflamed respiratory tract and am on nebulized corticosteriods. I am scared to death of getting Covid 19 because I can't imagine I'd survive pneumonia. I am over 60. I have now been diagnosed with asthma COPD overlap. The steriods are great but the whole lung thing took it out of me. I had xray and scan and it showed some scarring and other creepy stuff.

Reports are showing that Covid 19 can cause permanent damage to the lungs. Especially in former smokers (me) and present vapers and smokers.

So I have been researching a lot. But just look at it realistically. It is a highly contagious virus that is just going to sweep through populations like a tsunami. It will take out the weak...and also...some not so weak, too.

The virus lives longer on surfaces then authorities are letting on...and hangs in the air, too.

For now I am working freelance in my studio apartment and 100 percent self isolating. I ordered all my medications online to be mailed to me. I topped off what groceries I had with an Amazon order. I enrolled with Meals on Wheels in case I want to use it. They will drop meals off at the doorstep with no contact.

And yes I have enough TP without being a big hoarder.

I am settling because I am alone and if I got sick I have absolutely no one to help me.

I think it is more of a mindset. I am doing all the things I never have time to do...Tarot study, listening to a lot of ambient music, very soothing, writing, reading, lots of interaction online. I am actually kind of having fun. I feel like I am in a spaceship.

Anyway remember the Hong Kong flu? That was a virus way back in the day. I was in highschool and got it. I got very sick and was home from school for two weeks. I remember my boyfriend missed me so much he came to my house and demanded to see me. (Remember back then there was no cell phone or Internet.) I remember he stood at the bottom of the stairs and I sat at the top. He made a lot of sexy comments about seeing me in my pajamas. It was a very innocent time. I always remember the Hong Kong flu because when I was home from school I read every single John Steinbeck novel. I just went on a big reading binge and was in heaven because I was a bookworm.

Silver lining thinking, people, silver lining thinking...

What a wonderful memory! I do remember the Hong Kong flu. There was a huge scare about it. John Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors.

like every government official ever: "yeah, we will shutdown for 2 weeks. Then we will reopen. But we won't actually shutdown right away. It should be fine to wait a few weeks."

My household has been isolated for 2 weeks now. This was our own decision based upon health/immune system challenges. I certainly have immune system challenges. My mom is 80 y.o. and already lives with a chronic staph infection deep in a hip joint and has has this infection for 2 years now and is expected to have it for the rest of her life. (this is from hip surgery).

Today, our governor has ordered an executive order for people to stay home. There are a few exceptions.
Our increase in cases has grown exponentially within the past week.
Our National Guard is setting up makeshift medical facilities throughout the most populated counties. They are setting up in HUGE sports complexes. In the meantime, we have some very ill people in a hotel near the university hospital. If they need an respirator, they are admitted to the ICU at the hospital next door.

ANd so it goes....

Love and Good Health to ALL!

N3 left without telling me- again!- and went to Sharlene's- AGAIN! I got mad at him, but he didn't care. As long as he gets what he wants. He's 18 and he doesn't need a ride to her house- its a 40-minute walk. Easy in this weather. He really gets under my hat. Me? I've been washing my hands a lot and sleeping or watching TV or listening to music.

Colorado has been put on lockdown but the last I heard an exception was made in Denver and liquour stores and marijuana shops were allowed to stay open. Essential businesses? Not.

Also...homeless have been advised to "find a place to stay." Duh.

I've become accustomed to staying home, it's scary to venture out but we need supplies. So I'm going to the special hour they have for seniors. I had to get up at 6 so I could be properly awake to drive at 7. Ish, it's dark out there!

I am already too isolated in my life. Now it feels like being in prison. If I could just go to my therapist's office the day after day isolation would be quite a bit easier. All I really want to do is read and sleep.
