I think I'm very fortunate. Trazodone still has a very strong effect on me. Plus, I live my day around a very vigorously planned sleep schedule (when my plans don't fall to poop).

What is the favorite part of your routine that you have built into your life that works in your favor in managing BD?

doing things at certain times in general, especially breakfast and dinner.

what are you doing for the 4th of july

Nothing particular. COVID-19 has me really paranoid. I might leave the inside land and go outside to grill burgers.

yes I do. ever since I was small (my family don't, but that didn't stop me believing)

do you think you went to seek help at the right time?, or do you wish you'd seen someone earlier

I went at the right time. My parents, bless them, sent me for help in 1989. It was the right time for me, the wrong time for the psychiatric industry when it came to young teens. Too young to diagnose, hence my misdiagnosis, and the beginning of a long line of continued misdiagnosises.

What do you wish you knew at the time of your diagnosis that you know now?

I never forget the first time I had one, I didn't know what was going on with me. it was so scary.

are you a sensitive person? (I am, easily cry at everything)

I guess I'd have to say that I'm pretty sensitive in my own way. I cry pretty easily over certain things but am deadened inside to many others though. Its very weird.

What is your favorite thing about the country in which you live in?

the weather. not too hot, not too cold.

would you move if you had the chance? (either to a diffrent country or, if the case may be, state)

Yes it’s too expensive here and the winters are awful.....

How many times have you moved in your life?

4 times (3 in adulthood)

Question: If you could get away with it would you sleep as much as possible or are you constantly on the go?

I think I'd be a sleeper, if I let back on my routine and just let go. It probably would be the worst thing ever for me, but god I bet it would feel amazing for a short period in time.

When you are low, and I mean really low, what is your go to nitty gritty comfort food?

Ben and Jerry's Vanilla or Pistachio or chocolate chocolate chip cookies with milk choc. chips from All Recipes recipe that is super yummer.

Do you always wear sunscreen this time of year whne you go out?

I'm not great about wearing it myself, but I always wear a hat and sunglasses and make sure my wife and kids wear sunscreen.

What is your 4th of July food order please?

burger and home did fries, home did peach cobbler

Favorite type of cobbler?

Fresh peach with blackberries cobbler. By far the yummiest I have had, made by a friend we lost some years back. I remember he said he got the peaches and berries from a local farm/orchard near us. In season.

Q: What is the furthest you have ever traveled by foot?

52 miles--actually ran it on a treadmill when manic. Ha!!!

Ever been snowshoeing?

No although as a kid I tried to figure out how to make tennis rackets into snowshoes.

Do you make your bed every day?

Not mine, but at the bfs I do.....

What values did you parents instill in you that you actually appreciate as an adult?

That is a spectacular story!!!

Yes. Without fail. Thing I actually picked up at the hopsital. It was one thing I could actually control.

Been to Africa?

No, although I stood in Eilat, Israel and looked across the Red Sea toward Egypt.
