I think I'm getting better finally. I still have both abdominal holes that have to be packed but I was actually able to walk around for a while yesterday. I needed some post-rona clothes so my friend took me to the store. She's been taking care of me so I bought both our orders. I'm still having some pain but it isn't as bad as it was. I'm progressing!

@SorryShaped: So happy to hear it! You certainly deserve some positive things. I think it was very kind of you to buy your friends order to thank her for her help.

The hardest part for me was the mental recovery. Coping with the changes and the pain and the depression was much harder than the pain that had me screaming constantly a month ago

That is wonderful news

Maybe I'm incorrect, but it seems to me that it's the mental pain of illness that is the hardest part for most people.

I know that's the case for me. Granted, I did hurt terribly during this time, but mentally I wanted it to end so badly that I probably should have been put on watch. I was not able to move much, and that probably kept me alive.
