I am wanting to know your experience(s)?

Doc took me off Seroquel (on that over a decade). Recent Seroquel dose change suddenly turned me MANIC! Like you had flipped a switch.

Think I am noticing more energy, setting goals (small ones to be sure but getting H and I not talking divorce finally. I have not overspent, and it is July 25 with the next week’s groceries bought! Have been on this 3 weeks.

I do seem tons more intolerant to heat on geodon than on Seroquel. Either that or I am having tons of hot flashes!

Just curious what experiences others had/are having.

Please ignore my med list. It needs updating I the worst way.

For five years, I had virtually no side effects from Geodon, other than some very initial sedation that completely stopped after a while. It was also weight neutral/friendly. The only issues for me with Geodon is that after the initial sedation stopped, I needed a medication to help a little with my sleep. I probably went a couple years sleeping only 4 to 5 hours per night max. Also, Geodon stopped being sufficient at curbing my mania, after originally being so. I had to have a second antipsychotic added even though I was on moodstabilizers, as well. I took 160 mg Geodon almost the entire time, except during the very initial tapering up.

After five years, Geodon started giving me akathisia. That was quite distressing and eventually led to me being taken off of it. Geodon withdrawal is quite difficult. I had to be weaned off very slowly.

I only took it for a Few days because it caused ocular dystopia. Having your eyes roll Back into your head uncontrollably? Yes, no thanks!

Geodon was not an effective med for me. I tried it for 3 long months. It caused me to be sleepy all day, then caused insomnia at night. Didn't reduce anxiety, didn't do anything else.

But a lot of people find Geodon to be helpful, I've noticed.

I take 120mg. of Geodon daily. I am also intolerant of the heat and very sensitive to the sun. But it is working well for me.
