Are you a morning person or night owl? |

If not for my meds I'd be a morning person. The stupid meds and stupid bipolar insomnia make me a reluctant night person.

Question: Best thing about Christmas Day for you personally what brings you great joy? |
#687
|
|||
|
|||
A: It may sound strange, but it's my one excuse to have family in one place, put on a christmas album or Pandora Radio station and have a sing along as a family. We don't do it as a "formal activity"-- we don't sit down and make it happen, but just in the spirit of things, music starts somewhere, and we all one by one just kinda get into it and pretty soon everyone is singing or dancing. I really like that.
Q: Coke or Pepsi? [alternatives for those who don't do soda -- coffee or tea?] [alternative to those who need an alternative -- favorite juice? beverage?] |

Did one of your parents (or anyone else) tuck you in when you were a child? Did they have a ritual when doing so? Meaning a prayer or fun thing? |

No, but they often said "sleep tight, don't let the beg bugs bite" which seriously delayed my sleep worrying about bugs crawling on me and biting me. It also gave me nightmares once I did fall asleep. Why TF, did they think that comforting?!
Generally, do you often suffer from nightmares? |

ha ha! Yes! But I was that kid people forgot to look for, so I was often the last one running up to the tree, singing "Olly Olly Oxen Free". I was small and slow, so even though they forgot about me I was easily tagged "it" for the duration of the game. To be honest playing with older, larger siblings was usually unrewarding.
Do you have siblings? |

my tradition is to watch " the muppet's christmas carol" (for years channel 4 had it every christmas eve), but now they don't so I got the dvd
I think it's such a great christmas eve film with great songs after it's finished, I make myself a plate of party food (bit of everything, pizzas, chicken on sticks, garlic bread,) and eat that while watching christmas music after dinner, I'll open 1 (1) gift, usually a small one- and spend the rest of the night listening to more christmas music (or if it's a good gift, watching/ listening to it) depending on what it is. what was the best gift that you ever got for christmas? |

A pair of underwear that only had one leg my grandma found in a bargain bin and didn't examine closely. It has given us more laughs in the 35 years since than any other present I have ever received.
Do you decorate a tree? Do you have a theme or just whatever ornaments you have acquired over the years?

What does your family usually eat on Christmas Eve/Day? Or if you celebrate a different holiday, what do you eat that day? |

We eat on Christmas Day (We usually eat Prawn Cocktail or Home Made Soup or Salmon then we eat Turkey, Potatoes, Carrots, Parsnips, Bread Sauce, Gravy, Pigs In Bankets, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts and Cranberry Sauce and to finish it off either Trifle, Christmas Pudding or a Scottish pudding called Clootie Dumpling) phew loads of food
We eat on Boxing Day (26th) Prawn Cocktail or Homemade Soup, Gammon or Roast Beef, Broccoli, Carrots, Parsnips, Brussel Sprouts, Potatoes, Bread Sauce, Gravy, Pigs In Blankets, Cranberry Sauce and Yorkshire Puddings finally Trifle or Christmas Pudding or Clootie Dumpling or Cheese Cake. Then both nights we have nibbles as we eat about 2pm ish. This year will be different I have a feeling. Question: Do you enjoy Christmas songs? What's your go to music? |
