Has anyone had positive results with TMS? It is mainly for depression if you are bipolar has it made you manic. I was told that if ECT didn’t work that TMS wouldn’t work. Any good or bad experiences please tell me. My dr is really urging me to do it. I guess I will talk to my pdoc about it Friday.

I haven't tried it, but my Pdoc did suggest it. I asked a question about it here a while back and got some replies from people who do have experience with TMS. My conclusion from that and other research was that TMS seems more like a hype than a well-established method at this point. I decided to go for ECT because it has a proven track record and I want to maximize my chances of having a working treatment ASAP. Granted, ECT has more significant side effects, but when I'm feeling bad enough to go for either approach then I can't afford to waste time on unproven methods.

I debated weighing in on this here. If you read the FluffyDinosaur's thread I won't be adding anything new. With that to preface my comment, I have had TMS but didn't see any real benefit from it.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
