I don’t feel very confident in myself anymore and I actually don’t like myself that much anymore. I’ve been trying my best to make myself feel good, i work out all the time, I have a nice car, nice food, nice bed, but I just can’t seem to escape these thoughts no matter how hard I try I always just think negatively and it is very stressful, and sad, i wish i had my self-esteem back I have had it once but now it just seems to have faded away.

I'm not really that self confident, either.

I know my weight's an issue, (I've had enough embarrassing experiences with that to last a lifetime), my intriversion makes comunication difficult, I'm useless at standing up for myself (especially against authority) then their's my BDD, that just makes me think I'm as ugly as shrek

Thanks for this!

So Sorry for what you're going through! Please do not give up! i can partly relate to what you're saying as i also have not too much self-confidende on my own. i agree with the other wise and wonderful posters in asking what has caused you to lose your self-confidence if you can say it. Are you currently seeing a therapist or anyone else whom may be able to Help? Perhaps some self-Help books may turn out to be Useful as well. i Hope things will improve soon for everyone. Just know that i am here to support and Hopefully many others as well. Stay Safe. Sending many Safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @BoomerMudcat, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

I'm sorry for what you're going through. I'm not that ''confident'' either (I used to be more at one time...) I wonder if you can identify events/illnesses - bipolar etc/people etc which may have contributed to this loss of confidence. (no need to tell me). I think a good therapist could help. I hope you keep posting and that today is a bit better for you! I agree with MickeyCheeky that there are some good self help books out there these days. Maybe a book on DBT?

I'm also not great at ''standing up for myself'' against ''authority figures'' who are not great at their jobs or all that kind, grrrr.
