I tried a new sleeping med tonight. Itís called zzquil pure zzzs but the only ingredients are melatonin, camomile, and lavender. The bottle says itís drug free. I took a couple, the directions say to take 2. So far Iím not feeling much different then the regular melatonin I would take. Which is slightly tired but not exhausted.

I hope it works. The regular melatonin didnít work and unisom and Benadryl made me hungry. The only thing that I found that works really well for sleep is muscle relaxers but my doctor didnít refill them.

So this stuff is my next hope.

I realize that some of my meds cause sleepiness, but I'm not taking anything specifically for sleep (except occasional ZzzQuil), but my sleep has been better this summer than it has in many years. No idea why. The only problem is that it feels so good to sleep that it's difficult for me to stop counting the hours until bedtime. Kind-of pathetic.

Even with the increase in lithium, I haven't been sleeping anymore. Last night my mom said around midnight I was screaming. I don't remember that, but I do know I woke up wicked anxious around that time and have been up since. We live in a multi-family home and I really hope I'm not disturbing the neighbors because that's like the third time in the past week I've woken up screaming. I'm wondering if I should restart the prazosin.

Iím really trying to be well, so Iíll participate here too. I have to take seroquel at night to sleep. I really messed my brain up by using cannabis and itís going to take me six months to recover. I missed church today due to not wanting to get up. I had a rough week at work, at home with my daughter and Iím titrating up on Wellbutrin and lamictal. Iím giving myself a break.

I am so happy that your sleep has improved !! Thats huge from a while back when you got virtually none, I was very worried about you then.

Ahhhh counting the hours til bedtime is NOT pathetic.. You have been in living hell anxiety for such a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time that it is okay to look forward to bed and yes count the hours

LOL My daughter totally gave up naps at 6 months old But she was such a good baby.

Now ?? hahahah She sleep every chance she gets.. She slept even better while up here....She laughs that shes 30 years old this month and her job starts at 6am and when she gets off work she goes home and flops in bed for a long nap.. She seldom ever has trouble sleeping. I am so happy that her Bipolar doesn't follow in my extreme insomnia.

Do you take your Geodon with 500 calories of food? It doesn't work as well without. I just wondered if that might help your sleep issues.

There are lots of references; here is one.

Geodon (Ziprasidone) and 500 calories - Scientific research - Medications - Schizophrenia.com

Sleep has been kind of iffy but I did just moved 18 hours away from my former home in order to leave a mentally abusive ex-husband so I'm giving myself some time to sort it all out and get used to my new home.

It depends on when I take it. Often I donít eat anything. Sometimes itís more like 100-300 calories. 500 calories is pretty much half my calorie budget for the day I donít think I can eat 500 calories once at night and then again in the morning and then not eat much during the day.

Last night wasnít too bad. I fell asleep around 7 and the fireworks didnít wake me up until 10. I stayed up for 1.5 hours. I fell back asleep and I thought I was going to get up at 3:30 But I fell back asleep for another 1.5 hours.

I had a dream that actually did happen but not quite that way. It was weird.

The zzquil pure zzs seem to be hit or miss. But they do work better then the regular melatonin. They take awhile to work but if I wake up it seems to be at 2:30AM instead of 10PM. Unless thereís fireworks like the last 2 nights.

I just took a 60 mil Geodon in addition to the 20 I took at 3 and the 80 I took an hour ago. I only took a 20 this morning. I should have taken an 80. So I guess it somewhat balances out in my warped mind. If I took everything when I should Iíd feel so much better physically and mentally. But I donít think I can do that and my Pdoc is kind of useless and if I switch doctors Iíll probably end up in rehab. And I doubt the ones near me are like the Betty Ford clinic or that Malibu one.
