usually at easter, it's the start of the english theme park/ rolercoaster season, so it means I can keep up on the latest news from the parks (in closed season, I just read about disney/universal)

it's an exciting time for me- reading about the opening of the parks

question: how is your relationship with your family. do you still talk to any of them or are they out of your life

Oh, it has its ups and downs. Surprisingly despite the trauma my daughter and I have a great relationship. So all in all it’s good but it takes work

What’s your favorite spring flower?

Violets. We used to gather them and take them to my grandma.

Are you taking any trips this year?

Definitely deep conversation. I find it much more intellectually satisfying. Unfortunately, one doesn't always have a lot of people around for deep conversation and some people even seem a bit incapable and/or unwilling of doing so.

Do you have a "green thumb"? What was/is something you either grew extremely well or the opposite?

Yes to both, but many more stories. When I have written poems, they tend to be more prose poetry. Most of my past poems, but not all, have been humorous. Many of my stories have been at least loosely based on my observations and experiences in life.

What is something you'd like to change about your behavior?

be less hostile towards myself

calling myself all the names I do can't be healthy for anyone- though it's hard not too, because they are so true as well

what is something we wouldn't guess about you?

Snoopy, my mut who looked like a bearded collie. She was adorable and well trained.

What’s something that’s on your bucket list. Even if it’s unlikely

I want to return to France, but this time I want to visit Orleans and the Chateau de Versailles (the palace). I am determined!

What is the first thing you would say to someone who tells you they're feeling depressed?

That it is ok to feel bad and they would feel better. And I would encourage them to stop and take care of themself.

Do you grind your teeth in your sleep?

Possibly, sometimes. Really, I don't know and my husband has said that he never heard any teeth grinding in my sleep. However, I have been a lifelong daytime teeth grinder. In fact, it's been a serious issue for me and dentists have a few times suggested that I get a mouth guard. I have resisted because who wants to wear a mouth guard during the day? My daytime bruxism does wax and wane, though, but damage is long since done. A few Christmases ago I needed two root canals (my two front teeth) directly attributed to the bruxism. The endodontist stated that my teeth have as much wear as many 70 year olds. I was only 47 or 48 when she said that. If I hurt the two teeth more, I might lose them and need them replaced. As I already have a wide gap between them (gap-toothed gal), it would be like a 6-lane highway there.

What negative habit are you trying to stop or suppress?

Anxiety. Which means I'm anxious about my therapy sessions about anxiety.

Have you ever used a patch medication?

Several years ago I was on a fentanyl patch. They work very well. After my back surgery I didn’t need them anymore.

What’s your biggest fear?

I guess if my husband passes on before me. I have thought about the possibility, though. As he is almost 13 years older than me, I think I should be at least somewhat ready for such a horrible event...in hopefully decades from now. If I go first, it would be easier for me, but my husband would then be the sufferer. Living abroad is an added factor in this. If I am the last standing, I may want to return to New Jersey. But who knows.

Do you tend to experience springtime mood elevation (hypomania/mania)? If so, which month does it tend to start?

For me it is summer. The last 2 weeks of July-first 2 weeks of August are my risky time.

Will you struggle with the coming light change?

defenetly. I hate this time of year because of the longer days. (I prefer the colder months)

have you ever been physically violent to someone, even if you didn't intend to be?

No, not really. Too minor to mention. Nothing that was ever physically painful to a living being. All when in a mixed or manic fury. My fury showed itself mostly verbally. The only physical pain I've caused was to myself, and that was only at my worst with bipolar (smacking myself in the face or head or hitting/beating the wall with my hand).

Have you ever hurt yourself by accident during a hypomanic/manic/mixed episode?

If I correctly recall, it was you rv who said you find the word "dumpster" very funny Now whenever I use that word I want to laugh.

Do you have a recommendation for a good show or film?

I really liked "StartUp" on Netflix. With your love of epic historical costume dramas, i doubt you would like this tho Beth. It's contemporary.

What's a funny thing that your pet does? Mine steals my socks!
Thanks for this!

My former cat used to put the same white fluffy ball in the middle of my bed if I was gone what he felt to be too long.

Have you ever been to Niagara Falls?

Yes, it's a most impressive waterfall. I saw it on our way to Michigan to visit our nephew who was staying there. We also visited some friend in Toronto on that trip, so it was convenient.

What was the most incredible natural wonder you have ever seen?

Either Niagara Falls or the red rocks near Sedona,

What position do you sleep in? (having just awakened with finger marks over my whole face/ Apparently I don't change position often)
