I live just outside Tampa bay. We will be moving soon (a year or two) as we can. I don't know where too yet. There's a bunch of cities on the table I'm less then thrilled to move to cool weather doesn't mix well with CP but the younger part of our family wants winter/city living.

I think it's very possible.... we currently have our own health and education systems along with other devolved powers. UK government still have say so over a lot as they are called reserved powers. If we get a 2nd referendum I think she will get the younger generations voting yes. As she lowered the voting age just for the 1st referendum to 16 years when it's 18 years for normal elections. We would need our own money (pound sterling is UK money so we would need either a new one or join for Euro??) This is a biggie as she isn't clarifying things. I think they live in cuckoo land tbh lol

I prefer the city but it’s a lot safer here in the country and my family is here too. I really wanted to move back to the city for ages after leaving but I’m used to it here now.

We have everything weather wise here. Mainly drought and bush fire but lately we’ve had devastating floods over a lot of our east coast. It snows in a lot of places… we have a fair few tourist snow towns with all the ski fields etc set up. I’m not really into snow… I’d never actually experienced it until I moved to this area. It never snowed in Sydney!

What are some of your preferences, Mm?

Ha, kudos to you! - I wouldn't know the very first thing about living in the snow. I drove in a snowfall once, in the mountains. Volkswagon Bus was skidding all over the place, I was scared.

Such interesting information, Laura! Wouldn't many people be sad to break away from the Monarchy?

I wish I had the energy right now, and the gas $, to drive that 75 miles west, right straight to the ocean, and flop down on that soft, sandy beach beneath the moon, listening to the waves crash, and sleep for 4 days straight. Anybody wanna join me?

Hmm. I think there's a song there, somewhere.

Nashville Tennessee here ! ( just a touch south)

I was born in Ohio just outside Cleveland. Moved to Tampa Bay Florida when I was 3.

From a very young age I knew I’d never stay in Florida. The non stop heat and just that flat ugly land, our beaches were Gulf of Mexico so it’s like bathtub temp and everything literally annoyed me lol We took a trip to Ohio every summer. I loved the rolling hills and everything just looked “ better”

This month will be our 19th year here. I can’t believe how fast time is going.

We moved from a busy loud everyone is in a rush to this quiet small town thats all rolling hills, 4 full seasons and where people wave as you go by them. Driving down a road farmers on tractors wave a hand while plowing or harvesting there fields.

Less than an hour away is the birthplace of David Crockett.. yes David.. Disney always had Davey but that totally wrong.

I’m about 4.5 hours away from the Smokey mountains and about 2 hours from Chattanooga which I must say is a great place to visit. I’m an hour from Jack Daniels distillery! Any visitors we have that’s a must for them.

Middle Tennessee offers so many things to see and do. I can’t imagine living anywhere but my piece of land

Melbourne Australia here. I live in the suburbs but it takes me about 15 minutes to reach the beach. I work an hour away in a more rural area and drive through cow and sheep farms. It's good.

I’m now 50 minutes away from Rochester MINNESOTA, not NY! That’s about 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Twin Cities. ( Minneapolis/St Paul). Eh, it’s so so. Was growing. When I was young but now is a dying town, mostly seniors and immigrants .

From the time I turned 18 I moved away, first to Wisconsin then to the Twin Cities then to Albuquerque New Mexico and on to Texas where I settled into Austin Texas for a couple of decades. If I had the means I’d love to return to New Mexico, the dry heat was amazing but because of location it cooled off at night. But I returned here to family and must admit I have a good life. There’s 4 seasons but winter hangs on a bit too long and spring and fall are far far too short. Summer can be beautiful but humid. This is the land of 10,000 lakes and they are beautiful.

And oh, the Mosquito is the state bird in the summer, the one good thing about winter is that it kills them off. Just kidding, the loon is the state bird.

The love you have for your home glows through your words. It sounds just plain wonderful. I was in Memphis, but I've always wanted to visit Nashville. I have met many people over time that say the Smokey mountains are very beautiful. I have to say that of all the states I've visited the people in Tennessee were the friendliest. I've found people in NYC to be friendly, but in a different way. The people I met in Tennessee were sooo welcoming and open. (I'm ashamed to say that the absolutely most unfriendly people I have met in any place I've traveled to in the world are Californians.)

Agggghhhh! How absolutely lucky to be so close to the beach! If I lived that close to the beach all I'd do is hang out there every day. Sounds like a fab place, where you live.

You have a beautiful sense of humor. Minnesota has always seemed like a magical place to me, when I think of it. Like a fantasy land where there's such cold, but people are warm inside their hearts. I'll bet people sure enjoy those lakes in the summer!

I was fond of New Mexico, it was so pretty. The weather, in general, is much like the weather where I live, during the hot months, anyway. It can be dry and blistering hot during the day, but the nights cool down.

Haha, Guess I'm the only one way out west in my lonely little time zone

Someone(s) in Europe should join in. I'd love to hear about it!

I can't really give clues because of where I live but there is someone else on here who I think lives about 45 minutes from me based on things she's shared. And I live in a very rural area so that's pretty amazing. (There, very rural area in the US is my clue ).

Isn't it a small world? There were 2 people on the forum some time ago, 1 was just west of me, the other was 20 miles east.
