Here's a pic I took a couple of years ago of the fresh, cool Pacific Ocean. "Pacific" means "peace."

hot hot hot

Thanks for the picture.
sorry it is so hot for you guys.
The high here was 94 with less humidity.
It is 80 right now and quite a relief from the temps today.

It's actually nice out right now? It's 61F!
Only a couple days before the temps shoot back up in the 90s though

When I was growing up and into the 1990's we would predictably have a warmish, rainy day on one of the last days of July. Never rains anymore in July, but we still have one weird day. Today is hot, fairly humid (humidity is very unusual for us), and I actually felt a whole THREE raindrops on my arm while I was walking to my car a while ago! My neighbor was outside, too, and said, "What was...I felt raindrops!" But that was that.

Lets do a rain dance with you.
"chanting rain rain come our way..Don't leave us dry another day".

WE have been having rain in the afternoons scattered showers that just make the humidity barely tolerated. it is 87 with 65% humidity. The high today was 90.

Today in Virginia, was cloudy with slow steady rain off and on all day. Kept the temperature down, so it was lovely! I swear I could hear the green growing things sigh with pleasure.

Rain....... Like a far-off dream.

Once I saw by the ocean and watched a heavy rain falling into the ocean. It was absolutely beautiful.

Starting on Sunday the temperature will be over 100 degrees. By Tuesday - 106. That will be the hottest day of the year thus far. I wish there was some place to get a snowcone.

It's actually cooled down here today. It's 62 here at 8 pm and going down to 58 over night. These are supposed to be the "dog days of summer". I'm not ready for Fall yet!

Ooh! Remember the Snoopy Snow Cone machine? You put ice in the top of Snoopy's house and shaved ice came out the door.

Oh, that is awesome! No, I don't think I've seen those. Oooh, shaved ice...even better than a snowcone. Okay, I KNOW there has to be shaved ice somewhere in this town. Henceforth, I'm on the look-out, lol.

I stay inside with the air conditioning 10 months out of the year. I used to handle the heat better, but with the meds I'm on it now makes me sick. Luckily I have air conditioning or I don't know how I'd survive.

Meds make heat extremely intolerable.

104 tomorrow, 108 on Tuesday, above 100 for the rest of the week, and the nights won't drop lower than 68.

This is from The San Francisco Chronicle.

(The "Bay Area" is the region immediately around San Fran, close to the coast. Temperatures higher than 80 degrees in the Bay Area would be considered oddly hot; 75 or below at this time of the year would be expected during the warmest part of the afternoon.

I live in an "area around Sacramento.")

Forecasters expect a heat wave to bake the inland region of the Bay Area this week, with temperatures pushing into the 90s and lower hundreds.
People living in the Central Valley and areas around Sacramento face the highest risk of dangerous, sweltering heat, according to a map tweeted Sunday by the National Weather Service.

Beth sorry I have been out of town for the last weekend so I missed your reports of the weather. how hot did it end up getting to?
I just can't wrap my head about the heat waves.
It has been in the mid 90's all week 91 today. 77 right now.The humidity here is a killer and makes it feel hotter.
(((((((HUGS))))))
I bet the movie theaters are hopping.

I wish there was a movie I wanted to see, because there's a theater just a few blocks from my apartment and it is so lovely and so cold in there.

The heat just doesn't stop @bizi. Every single day is over 100, day after day, for weeks. Tomorrow will be 107 degrees again. The nights remain warm. Not hot, but too warm. There's supposed to be a breeze coming in tonight from the coast. I just opened my windows and I can feel a tiny whisper of a breeze, nothing amazing.

I am familiar with the southern humidity and it is tough to bear. I do like the cicadas, the sound they make. We do have cicadas here, some, but for some reason they don't make a sound. Crickets here are the noisy ones.

Oh, you and I are deep winter babies and I just think we're meant for cooler weather.

We had some thunderstorms and a lot of rain that flooded

a street that jeff and I were going thru to go get some

pizza near by. we drove thru the water dejavu from last

year that jeff drove thru the flooded street and got 4 inches
of rain in his car. the air bag control is requiring checking

we may not have air bags functioning.
I get tired of him not getting it checked.

Am I really going to have to get angry

about this before he gets it done.
sigh.By the time that we were done eating our pizza

the rain had stopped and the road was clear, it drains fast.

The car is fine.....except for that damn air bag warning that is on the console in large letters every time we start the car.
enough!

Ooh, air bags are so important! But thunderstorms and rain in August...sounds like a magical, mystical, voodoo dream.

Still over 100 every day, but the night are dropping down to about 60. This week-end is supposed to decrease in temperature quite a bit, to normal summer temperatures. That's okay, it can be pleasant.
