bizi, I know you know this, but just a reminder: drink lots of water.
I was just looking at movies playing in the theatre near me. My curiosity is peaked by Elvis. A cold movie sounds sooo nice. __________________ |

A movie sounds awesome. It's supposed to be a sticky 90F here today. I should probably set up the A/C.

I heard thunder in the back ground but no rain which we desperately need.
Right now it is 75 degrees with 90% humidity. Husband sat outside with a fan on him. He takes walks every morning and walks about 4 miles. comes back sweating. I have tried to walk with him but can't keep up and I don't have any endurance. I belong to planet fitness and have not been in ages. 2 months ago I fell on my knees and did something to them. It hurts to get down on the floor with my job. I try to do some stretching exercises. simple but they help to get out of bed. I thought it would just get better. It has not. maybe I will call in to my Doctor to see if she would approve PT. WE have met our deductible for the year. so PT would be free I think. not sure. I don't have time for PT. unless I can drag my self out of bed and go early. anyway, I hope you are coping with the heat @*Beth* bizi __________________ 150mg of lamictal 2x a day haldol 5mg 2x a day 1mg of cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, 4-5 peri-colace for chronic constipation multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine at noon PRN Remeron 15mg at night, zyprexa10mg under tongue, requip2mg. |

Hugs and respect to all who find the heat and humidity sub optimal. This picture gave me a smile and I hope it does for someone else too!

btw bizi, I hope your provider was helpful and did not tell you to ''just cope'' with the knee pain. I haven't been following all your posts so sorry if this post is a little off... not my intention.
off topic. I have recalculated my benzos and I have more than I thought. Not ''enough'' but they do not prescribe enough and I have to ''just cope''..... I will be f.i.n.e.... and much more so if I do not have to talk to someone who routinely insults me and my intelligence with their tantalisingly brief and often untrue or even ugly statements. Sorry about the rant. They let their ''inner snakes' run the show, imho. I would like to MOVE AWAY to somewhere where they show some respect and humanity. (I don't want to talk about my location here. The few times I mentioned my location it was not helpful to me and I prefer to be more anonymous. There is ..... not much more I can say about that, except that I mentioned to papa bear (my husband) the possibility of me consulting a private psychiatrist... It's possible they might be more respectful? He was NOT at all keen on the idea (understatement) He said he ''didn't need more stress in this weather''... He is a good guy. (they... those I have seen, are not ) Hugs and respect __________________ |

I've never liked the heat of summer, and as a native of New Jersey, I can say the humidity was always nasty, too. Now where I am in Czech Republic, it's usually milder in temps but too often dry. I also complain about the dryness. Either way, I can't be in the sun for very long and I've almost always avoided it because I do not tan. I am only "Vice President of the Cement Factory" white, white with some freckles, or beet red that peels and heals back to white. No tanning. Nowadays I wear high SPF sunscreen when outside for long, along with a hat, sunglasses, and sometimes very thin long sleeves. Or I stick to the shade or inside the house. There's skin cancer in my family. I've also developed age spots that needed to be lasered off my face. When it's been extremely hot and humid, I'm prone to prickly heat or other heat related skin issues, especially with exercise. Since starting to take higher doses of antipsychotics, my body heat regulation became even more affected, so I have to be drinking cold beverages (not including alcohol) frequently. Antipsychotic weight gain doesn't help either. The fact that I'm in perimenoupause exacerbates all of this. Anxiety on top of that can make me sweat a lot. The more I sweat, the more I get anxious. Viscous circle all around.

Summer affects my anxiety. They should find a way to destroy summer without messing up the ecosystem. Stay cool all

It is only 91 today high of 93.
beats out 97 anyday. We have had bits of rain/scattered showers this past week. We could use some more rain. bizi __________________ 150mg of lamictal 2x a day haldol 5mg 2x a day 1mg of cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, 4-5 peri-colace for chronic constipation multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine at noon PRN Remeron 15mg at night, zyprexa10mg under tongue, requip2mg. |

Weather channel says 7/10 of the next days are going to be 90 or above (and the other days pretty damn close!). We put in our A/C today since it'll probably be humid too.
I don't know how you guys that regularly get mid-90's-triple digit heat do it. I'd sooner handle -40 temps....I've got the gear! __________________ Live life for nothing but that sweet sweet melody. |

It is a *grand* 104 degrees right now - and for the coming days. A scorcher! Bone-dry and mind-bending heat.

Aw, thanks, bizi. Usually, our nights get lovely, at least. BUT we do have a handful of nights during the summer that stay hot all night. It feels apocalyptic. __________________ |

The lowest temperature I've ever experienced was 4 degrees in a mountain town. It was on my birthday in late December and I felt like I was going to freeze to death. I was absolutely miserable. Ideal for me is 68 to 78, nothing lower or higher, haha. __________________ |

Welll...California's coast is about 800 miles long and the entire coast ranges (in the summer) between 68-ish and upper 80's, whether you're in SoCal (like San Diego or Los Angeles) or NorCal. Nights along the coast are chilly, especially along the north coast.
But, what's been happening is that the coast is heating up. For example, San Francisco is seeing daytime temperatures into the 90's. When I was younger that was literally impossible. It simply did not happen. SF's warmest month is October and even that was never above the low 80's. IF the temperature in San Fran hit 85 it made big news. So climate change is having a serious effect on the Calif coast, which is so sad because of course, the Pacific Ocean ecosystem gets messed up. As for expensive, yes, the entire coast is extremely expensive (and so magnificent!), but all of this state is so costly. I just read today that the highest rents in the nation this summer are in San Francisco, which scares me because I live close enough to SF that if their rents keep rising, so do the rents in my town. Still, a huge attraction in this state is the weather. We have plenty of heat, but it's not humid heat, and the nights in most places cool down to lovely. Winters are either really pleasant or cold (in the mountains), but not terribly cold. The enormous issue at this time is drought brought on by climate change. So there's your answer to your question about San Diego, lol. __________________ |
