I love them, particularly with peanut butter!

On a related note, do you like ( or have you tried) ice cream with a big scoop of peanut butter?

Yes, I certainly have. I really like peanut butter. I would almost eat it on top of cardboard. I regularly just eat it out of the jar with a spoon. My Czech hubby doesn't like peanut butter, so I have it all to myself. Yes, it is great with ice cream.

Are you hungriest in the morning, afternoon, evening, or late (middle of the) night?

I’m hungriest around 11:00am each day. Probably because I don’t eat breakfast then it just hits me that I absolutely must eat something.

What’s your all time favourite sitcom - past or present?
Thanks for this!

I haven't regularly watched a sitcom for years, so it will be an old one. M*A*S*H. It combined comedy with serious drama, beautifully, and all of the characters were great. I truly cried a number of times while watching it, laughed a lot, learned a lot, grew a lot.

A song that has touched you a lot? And why?

Demons by Imagine Dragons. I’ve got some dark things that happened in my past that I will take with me to my grave. The lyrics really speak to my soul.

Where’s the last place you went on holiday?

Mexico (parts of the Yucatan peninsula) in late December 2022. We were also in the US (New Jersey), but I didn't see the US part as vacation. More family visits.

At what place did you experience the most awe?

In college I was on the women’s unofficial rugby team. We went to play at another campus then after the games went up to the cliffs to party. As usual all there was to drink was beer which I don’t like so I wondered off by myself. Was sitting on the cliff overlooking the the town. It was dark and the sky had millions of stars and the town below had lights twinkling. It was beautiful, awesome. I felt so content. I’ll never forget it.

What was the first time you felt an overwhelming sense of contentment?

Dark is my favorite, followed by white. Actually, I'm more of a vanilla fan. The appeal of dark chocolate is its bitterness. I also like strong unsweetened coffee, which is in the same realm, in a way.

What time do you usually literally get out of bed in the morning?

Very much up in the air at the moment what with the surgery aftermath. Usually, it was 9am. Since my work is typically mid-shift, I've got time!

Who was the last artist you listened to on the radio (or through Spotify, Pandora that sort of thing)?

The (generally) happy medium between winter and summer temperatures.

Have you ever broken a bone?

Not accidentally. I’ve had foot surgery in which my bones were broken and reset and spinal surgery in which my spine was cut to give the surgeon access to the spinal cord.

What life lesson did you have to learn the hard way?

That my parents are only human, with human foibles and flaws. I mean, it's a lesson we all have to learn eventually, but it was the fact I had to learn it so young and so dramatically that make it stick out in my mind.

Has your intuition about someone (for good or ill) ever been proven right?

It's been right pretty much all the time; I often decide to ignore it and suffer the consequence.

I think that's part of getting to know yourself - trusting yourself enough to listen to yourself.

Q: What is one skill or hobby that you've always wanted to try but haven't had the chance to yet?

More of a hobby I want to get back into, but I'd love to restart my guitar lessons! Haven't touched a guitar in at least ten years!

Have you ever had the chance to travel first (or business) class on a flight? Or train even?

Nope. Never been on a train, and only short domestic flights regular class.

What was the last TV show you binge watched?

That would be Star Trek: Picard, and it was awesome! It was so good seeing the characters I fell in love with as a kid on screen again.

What gets you out of a "bipoiar" type of funk?

It's not a perfect fix, but I often try to put myself around people in a way where I can just be there. Think a midnight showing of a movie or listening to music at a small venue (or even a large one).

Basically, I give myself a distraction where I'm out in the world, but there's no expectation to put myself out there.

Where is the last place you visited, just because you wanted to?

The zoo in the city where I go for psych and breast care. I'm hoping to go again in a few weeks as a sort of reward for getting through my breast imaging appointments.

What food are you craving?

I’m craving a vegetarian diet, specifically the food a co-op in Minneapolis used to make. Mmm healthy and affordable

Is there one job you’d never do even if it paid well? Why not?

One of the worst jobs I've ever seen is men who have to drag the bodies of deer that were hit on the highway over a bank to get rid of them. I could never do that. I don't get grossed out easily but that would do it.

I'm just starting to venture into the world without masks. Are there any places you still wear a mask? I'm not sure I can ever go into Walmart without one again. It's so gross in there.

No, I don’t wear a mask anywhere anymore. But I do keep my distance from people. I joined a study for respiratory health and they keep sending me reminders to call them if I have any symptoms but I’ve only had one respiratory illness and it was covid, so it didn’t count. That’s the only thing I’ve had since 2019. So knock on wood I must be doing something right.

Have you had an ordinary cold since 2019?
