Currently what's your favorite FAVORITE word in relation to bipolar?
Currently what is your favorite FAVORITE word in general? What's your favorite emoji? (This is a bonus question. You don't have to answer it if you don't want to. Lol) What bipolar word do you most DESPISE? (This is also a bonus question you don't have to answer if you don't want to.) I'll go first. My favorite bipolar word in relation to my personal experience is CREATIVITY. My favorite word is IGNORAMUS. My favorite emoji is: 🤪 The bipolar word I most despise is SKILLS. Your turn! __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. |

No favourite words are coming to me at the moment and I don't really use emojis much.
However, I had an immediate word come up that would fit despise, although I'd prefer to call it my least favourite word. The word is "disordered". People have a disorder, they aren't disordered. I had actually never seen that term used to describe someone before I came to this site. It often seems to be used to denigrate someone, especially when there has been a bad relationship or the person being described is highly unlikable or has awful behaviour. Referring to someone as disordered is distasteful to me, and probably used more in the other forums than the bipolar forum. I was at my doctor's one time, and I referred to myself as bipolar. While he didn't correct me, when he was talking back to me, he always called or referred to it as bipolar disorder, never referring to me as bipolar. Disordered is kind of the same. If someone referred to me as disordered (especially a medical professional), I'd be a little taken aback. I have a disorder, I'm not disordered. Thanks for letting me rant. |

Currently what's your favorite FAVORITE word in relation to bipolar?
Stability Currently what is your favorite FAVORITE word in general? Chicken. Always has been. Saying it makes me laugh. What's your favorite emoji? (This is a bonus question. You don't have to answer it if you don't want to. Lol) None What bipolar word do you most DESPISE? (This is also a bonus question you don't have to answer if you don't want to.) Not so much a specific word, but the usage "I AM bipolar." It still gets on my nervous. I am not a disorder. Frankly, I don't even like the word "bipolar" that much. I prefer the old description of "manic depression". __________________ Dx: Bipolar type 1 Psych Medications: * Tegretol XR (carbamazepine ER) 800 mg * Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg * Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 600 mg I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia. |
