Hi I also have bipolar and I do not recieve any help from family members just my self this site and my docs feel free to pm me also we can chat this is a very hard thing to deal with alone trust me I have done it and i am still doing it. the best advice i can give u is stay on your meds. When i go off of mine it hats hard and i do some really crazy stuff.I hate myself afterwords but i have 2 children I have to get better for them. I have known for 2 years and i am now just grasping the concept of what is going on at this point I can not hold down a job I used to be a property manager of a big building complex but had to quit becuase of my problem been hospitallized and it has been a rough road stay on meds I been back on for a month asnd I feel like after my last episode I promised my self i would never go off of them again and so far I have kept the promise I just hope I have learned enough about this problem to know to do the best thing to me.

Welcome to the club no one wants to belong to (bipolar club). It might take a while to get your mood regulated on meds (took me a year) so be patient, hang tight & have hope & post often. Also, ask at the hospital about support groups you might attend when you get released. Good luck. Welcome to psychcentral.--Suzy
