...that your insurance will pay for. After that, you have to pay up front. Ikes! At least I got a warning. Monday I see my psych. dr. then tuesday my social worker. I can't just have 1 appointment after that. So I think I will have to cancel the social worker as I'm having the most problems with meds AND I can't just have NO appointments left for the rest of the year because Murphey's Law says I'll go "whacko" in the last two months of the year. What to do?? When I see my pdoc Monday, I'll have to talk to her about it, it seems.

That stinks. I actually have 10 allowed sessions for mental health with my insurance company per year. I see my therapist twice a month and my pdoc maybe 5-6 times per year. That's way more than 10 times.
Somehow I get it all covered. I called my insurance company and asked if they could cover more. Apparently there's a code for Bipolar that they use, and I got approved for unlimited visits, just pay my copay.
I've been doing this for the past 2 years.
Maybe you can call your insurance company and ask?? It wouldn't hurt to try.
At least they let you know ahead of time, instead of sending you a huge bill.

Thanks for that. I'll remember that.

Ouch! I would totally cancel the social worker and stick with the pdoc. Better to have the chance to see someone and adjust meds with what you have been going through lately.

Hi Moose72
I'm not quite familiar with how your medical system works there but in Oz we have Medicare where you can have 12 sessions per year with a t and if your G.P. thinks you need more then they can extend it up to 18 or more sessions .... in terms of your situation I think you should just use what sessions you have left with your t and at the same time ring your insurance co and see if you can get more (if you need them)......personally I find it reassuring to know I have them available even if I don't avail myself of them. I hope this helps
