I am getting really edgy and having....an episode. I am being mean and don't really care. I am driving faster and more erratically and don't care. I...just...don't....care!!! I recognize this episode for the first time ever. Maybe I am just becoming more aware of what my body is saying.
Anyways, I am being weened off the Lamictal so that I can prepare for trying to get pregnant in about 2 months. After Lamictal I come off the Triazolam (for sleep). This whole thing SUCKS! I wish they could come up with something that is safe to take while pregnant. My nurse practitioner (who prescribes the meds) said that most peoples hormones correct some of the Bipolar symptoms when they get pregnant, but I am looking at TWO months, just to start, coming off the meds! It's only been 7 days and I feel myself coming apart. I'm not really asking anything, I just need to vent! Stupid meds, stupid bipolar, I HATE THIS!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'll triple all your listed Icons for you. I just came off Lamictal. The ![]() I was hearing stuff in the attic. Actually called the police. I was sitting beside the refrig. with a buther knife. The police thought I was on drugs and treated me like crap. They were laughing, not looking at me. Wouldn't give me a report. Instead asked me why I thought someone would want to live in my attic with my insecticide cans. They thought I was ON drugs... ANYWAY - that's when I found this web site. If I may suggest ... stay solo, no cars and stuff while coming off med.s. Think happy baby bootie thoughts |

I am sorry you are going through this. Some people have no compassion and their ignorance is disgusting. I have come across a bit of it. Wanting to throw something at them but knowing we are just lowering ourselves to their level doesn't help. Just one step at a time and hang in there.

THAT SUCKS!!!! I can't believe your psch doc didn't ween you off the meds. Like my doc said, it took 6 weeks to get up to full dose, it will take 6 weeks to come off if them!
I hate when police and others' of authority act like that. I'm sorry you had to deal with that!! ![]() I am thinking lots of happy baby bootie thoughts! ![]()

I think my mind is rebelling! I am ubber agitated and even decided to run into my room to nap because I was being.....mean to my husband. Well, in my mind it was mean. I snapped at him and made condescending remarks. Baby clothes ROCK. I love going to Fred Meyer (sort of biggish store) and Wal*Mart to check out the clothes. I am constantly buying clothes for my Godson, so hopefully I will have a boy so my best friend can give me back all the clothes! LOL *sigh* babies.....I just love em!

I have the asthma too. Don't like the med.'s though. Only use Albuteral for extreme emergencies. I do have this nose in thing it's : Fluticasone Propionate. Works great. My nose stuffs up - (sniff) and it 's not nasty and I CAN BREATE. Of and yes, who can beat Wal-Mart. People are crazy with all these prices and stuff. Just like shoes children out grown shoes every three months. I've truly enjoyed our conversation tonight. I hope you sleep well. Do you drink tea. I drink Celestial Sleepytime tea. It works. Smiles. |

I have been hearing things much more lately. I know it's the meds, but then again, I am DID, too.....but it's different. IDK how to explain it. I just can't wait to get off these meds and be done with it because I keep getting weird dizzy spells for seconds at a time. Oh well, nothing I can really do except to just slow down, try not to stress so much and give myself a bit of a break knowing I am going to be a.....brat for a while. I just HATE being that person because I am not that mean, usually. I'm off to work. Hope that I can get through the day without snapping at anyone! ![]()

I liked that bottom part you wrote "I am not 'that' mean ususally".
I know you didn't mean it as a joke. I thought it was cute. |

Well I can relate to you somewhat.
I found out I was pregnant 6 months ago, and immediately stopped taking my Serequil, Lamictal, and Lexapro. But it drove me quite insane!!!! My bipolar disorder + being pregnant sent my moods into overdrive and it was tearing me down in all aspects, physically & mentally. My therapist and pill doctor could see how bad me not taking ANY meds was affecting me, and I had told my OBGYN about my condition and all of my doctors said the same thing. Kinda like weigh the pros and cons. I need to take care of myself so I can take care of this little guy inside me, and if that means taking a risk with the pills, than taking the pills are worth it. So they put me back on a low dose of Serequil and a low dose of Lexapro. Which are both category "C" when it comes to the risk of pregnancy. I'm in a rush and can't correctly explain what that means, but basically those pills haven't been tested enough with pregnancies to determine side effects. So it's a "slight" risk. The choice is ultimately up to you. If you feel that you really do need it, talk to your doctors about it. Good luck to you! |

I couldn't handle my mood swings any more today so I called my nurse practitioner today and she told me to stop weening off the Lamictal and is going to give me something else to take the edge off for a couple of weeks until I become stable again. I forgot to ask what it's called, but I cut it into 4 pieces and take it 4 times throughout the day. It is supposed to mellow out my anger, anxiety and frustration inside. At one point today I got so upset that I went into a separate room with a locking door and punched the chair several times. I haven't felt THAT aggressive in a very long time! Oh, another thing, my NP said that if I get pregnant, she will take me off Lamictal right away, so we just need to be aware of what my body and mind are telling me. I cannot WAIT to get back to stability because I can't handle this anymore. ![]()
