I think I might have BPD. The campus T I'm seeing keeps mentioning it, but she says she hasn't known me long enough to diagnose me yet. I have a feeling I won't be leaving without the diagnosis of BPD, though. I really don't know what to expect.

It takes a while to find out about things. Sometimes your memory does not allow you to see everything. What do you mean by that you do not know what to expect?
Thanks for this!

I've researched the signs of BPD, and they fit...I guess it just kinda scares me a little bit...

I dont think that it should be something to worry about. If you do have BPD then you have it, just try your hardest to recover from it. BECAUSE RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE

Hi FA- I am also BPD. And it did help me to read as much as I could about it. Books etc. Sometimes online info is a little over the top. There are so many books out there about life with bpd.

Do you have some titles of any good ones? I have found one or two books about BPD, but not many.

Hi there,

There is an excellent book that is my reference. It is an oldy but a goody....

http://www.amazon.com/Hate-You-Dont-.../dp/0380713055

I bought this when i was dx 15 years ago......hope that helps....

By the way, it took 13 weeks of intensive therapy, a hospital admission and personality testing to be dx.....I had 3 dx, BPD, schizoeffective and PTSD.....so don't despair if your T takes their time in dx.....it is much better that way from a treatment perspective....

Take care

Michah

Thank you! That is actually the one book I do have. I just recently started it, and it is very, very informative so far.

WOW! All of that for the dx!? I'm not looking for a dx necessarily, but I'm convinced that it will happen eventually, so I'm mentally preparing myself for the time when it comes.
