Does anyone else with BPD have attachment issues with someone other than their T? I can look at someone and become emotionaly attached,I never know why it just happens. I don't even have to know them. But if I do like in the case of my Grandmother is a severe attachment with me allways wanting here to make me feel better and such(because i can't soothe myself for some reason),and if I think I upset her or she cancles coming to see me then I become a basket case...anyone else?.....lol

Unfortinatly though,my grandmother DOES NOT get me at all,I've given her books countless emails etc,she actually thinks i have a high self esteem and I'm BULIMIC and need of constant reassurance with whatever i do or look like.....lol Shes from the old school though so I guess I don't expect her to understand. These things wern't talked about back then. In my daydreams(which i do ALOT) she understands fully....

I think many with BPD (and probably other disorders) have been there or are there. For me it takes a while to become attached to someone but abandonment sucks... I think it does for anyone though, whether BPD or not, if there was closeness, or a "strong" bond on both sides (real or perceived.)
Sorry this probably isn't very helpful

YES! I absolutely hate it

Sorry, I'm not real helpful. I simply struggle a lot to obtain & maintain healthy relationships. Wish that I had wise words to share, and help, but I don't. You aren't alone with this tendency that you may have.
