Well, I have an issue. I have been in extreme anxiety all day. I have flashes of nightmares while I am awake! I feel like I am losing my mind. What I see in the real world disappears and I am seeing the nightmare. I know how it sounds. It sounds crazy even to me but it leaves me shaking and panicked. It only lasts a couple seconds but frightening none the less. I have been using self soothe skills when it happens and trying to use distract skills to keep it from happening. I am trying to avoid triggers like certain smells... grape Koolaid... yeah.. see.. crazy..

Have you talked to your therapist about this?

Philo, you are nto crazy. This to me sounds very common with anyone that has BPD. I assumed you do since you posted it here. Talk to your T if you have one. If not then maybe it would be good to start with one. Take care of yourself.

I am like you I get these intense periods of horrendous anxiety and find it almost unbearable, but the one thing that gets me out of it is to contact my T and he puts things in perspective with me and soon I find the anxiety soothes away. I hope you have a good T as you really need to discuss this with them as it is having such an awful effect on you day to day existance and you dont deserve to do that. Please do seek out help from someone and continue with your self soothing exercises and all those things that you are doing.

Best wishes

Paddy
