I take abilify 20 mg, Zopiclone for sleep, and Remeron for depression. The remeron definitely works and alleviates anxiety and panic. The abilify deals with my troublesome thoughts and paranoia. I also take klonopin prn for severe anxiety states.

Medications for BDP are notoriously difficult to get to work and you really need to be doing a Talk Therapy as well to compliment the medication.

But a good anti depressant and anti anxiety meds for difficult times are a good place to start and maybe add an anti psychotic to deal with intrusive thoughts etc.

I have tried many, many medications in the last 12 years. They either helped very little or not at all. I'm on a small dose of diazepam and sleepers at night now. For me personally medication hasn't been the answer, therapy has. I agree with paddym, talking therapy should be offered as well as meds for BPD.

me too. I was treated for depression mostly, then depression with anxiety. I never thought they worked well. But now I have made the connectin and have the BPD dx, and therapy is so helpful. I have Xanax to use a tiny bit of, and only once in a blue moon, but I prefer therapy In fact I just realized that when I was having my recent period of distress/meltdown, I never reached for the Xanax or even thought about it...I thought about and called my therapist for an extra visit.
