I didn't know wether to say this or not. I see people that arnt there. it hasn't happened a lot recently but it still happens. for example i woke up one day and there was a little boy on my floor sitting down turning his head towards my door then back to me. another time i saw someone run behind the sofa but there wasn't anyone there. the most recent one i have been seeing is someone unsure if it is a man or a women sitting on my mums bed with their head down asif sad and lonely. I have had many many more sightings this is just a fraction.

i dont hear voices or they never talk to me. I am so confused if it is scyksophrenia - (sorry cant spell) or its a spiritual things.

Has anyone had similar experiences? and who is also suffering BPD!
Im only 18 and it is really getting to me.

Meg x

Hi Meg

Gosh your having a hard time of things lately *hugs tight*

I have BPD, and I also hallucinate sometimes. So your not alone with that.

I cant say why, but I do know quite a few other people with BPD who also hallucinate, so its not uncommon, although its not classified in the DSM criteria.

I know its such a difficult thing to talk about, but is there anyone in the mental health field that you trust that you can talk to, you really need to make someone aware of this as they could help.

Yeah i do talk to my mum but she thinks its spiritual only because she went to a medium once and they said that one of her kids will think they are going mad (which i did) because they will start seeing things. im glad im not the only one. im so glad i found this website..i really see now that im not alone and that i can talk about things and people dont think your mad.
I may look into it a bit further and i want to talk to my doc about it. i just worry she wont believe me or think im just an attention seeker.

Thanks for your support.

meg I'm not sure what I think about 'spirits' but lots of people believe in them and claim to see them.
I've also never hallucinated, so I don't know if what you're experiencing can be described as a normal hallucination. Maybe somebody can explain their own to you and see if this could be that.
Are you on any meds that could be causing hallucinations? Or particularly stressed out right now? I mean, do you feel as though you might be hallucinating?

My ex-best friend's family all claimed to see spirits sometimes, I'm not sure I believe, but I also think it's not possible they were all hallucinating (they didn't even have anything 'wrong' with them), so either they saw them, or they lied. Not sure if that helps you at all but...

Are you in therapy? It might help to talk about it, or to a doctor. They would probably think it's a hallucination I guess, and if it is I guess something needs to be done.
Hope you are ok x

Hi Meg,

I have BPD and hallucinate as well. It is not regularly, but every now and then I see some strange and scary things. I understand where you are coming from, please don't feel alone. ::

I have hallucinated quite a few things. A lot of times the clouds turn into angels and start battling in the sky (weird, I know, but I see it). Once I saw a circus elephant cross the road in front of me (then I really knew I needed meds, lol). I have seen things slither out of corners, I've seen people of all kinds that weren't there. I've heard voices, too. Usually it's sounds like "thud" and they're being screamed in a male voice. I've heard and felt bugs that weren't there like spiders on my legs and ants on the table.

It's scary and you can learn to almost hate yourself for it. You can feel like wow, this is it, I've really lost it. Maybe we have a mental illness but it is not something we can control. We can get help from doctors though, have faith and still be good and productive people.

I hope that magically one day you wake up and your problems have disappeared. If that doesn't happen, well remember that we all have our own obstacles. And hey... atleast you know life won't ever get boring!
