Or when you keep telling your significant other, "You'd be better off without me; I'm no good for you," but then they're the heartless creep when they believe you and end the relationship.

... or you regret going along with them because you don't feel comfortable in large crowds or public places.

you get the "great" idea to sell the freezer you don't use, to help pay rent. Only to not think about checking what's in it before posting the ad. Then find your roommate has it halfway full, after letting someone know they could come over to look at it

Your roommate is taking a nap and she didn't tell you that she was going to, so you slam around the house to wake her up just so she's ask "Are you ok?" Cause you feel abandoned for no reason at all.....

Don't apologize for how you feel. You didn't directly do anything to anyone, you were just expressing yourself. I dig it and relate! You're awesome to me! ![]() |

I just had a BPD moment at work I had to suppress. My Boss sits behind me so I already think she's staring at me and watching me every move. So, my pen falls on the floor and as I'm picking it up, something else falls, now I'm frustrated with myself and the fact that I'm thinking that she thinks I'm a dumbass and now I want to throw everything on my desk across the office. LOL! |

Wow, I can't say I've done that. Then again, not every borderline is different. One thing that is consistent though is that BPD men seem to be cold and emotionally distant, while women are histrionic and quick to anger.

That's the tendency, but I had a BPD boyfriend (a BPD man, in itself, is rare enough) who was histrionic. He pitched a fit in a bank one time because he was afraid an expected deposit hadn't come in. It had, but into a different account. But when it wasn't in the first one, he started cursing (there were children behind us in line) and threw his checkbook. I was nervously watching for the security guards to start approaching us. I'd previously seen him thrown out of a government building for getting all nasty-tempered with their security guards, and booted from more than one bus for being ugly with the driver. And the kicker is, toward the end of our relationshit (a friend coined that word, it fits perfectly) he was going around telling all our friends what a violent temper *I* had, and how afraid he was of me. Yet I have never been tossed out of anywhere because of my temper.

You know you're borderline when it seems somebody interrupts you every time you sing, so you conclude that God, life, and the universe thinks you have a horrible voice and doesn't want you to sing, and you vow never to sing again.
It's true. Twice today while I was singing, my husband interrupted from another room. Once on a family trip in two cars, communicating by CB, everybody in the car I was riding in got through a whole song, but every time I started singing, someone from the other car (who wouldn't have any idea I was singing) would interrupt with the damn CB. I can never get through a whole song without a knock on the door, a phone ringing, someone calling from another room, or something. ![]() Someone help me with some logic, here, please. All I'm getting out of my husband is, "You're being irrational." He won't give me any sympathy or understanding at all, when all I really need from him is a hug and some comforting words. |

I don't sing, but I understand the interrupting thing. Sometimes it does feel like its happening to just us, but its not. Sorry your husband isn't being very helpful. Not sure I've got much for logic, but can offer hugs and to say your not alone. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I jus got diagnosed with it and I'm finding it hilarious reading some of these things because I've done the same thing. But to add one of my own...
Knowing theres something wrong and you don't know what so you research every symptom you have and look for the one that looks the worst and start telling everyone thats what you have even though your doctor hasn't confirmed it yet... or, start going to college for Medical Assistant, switch over to Accounting because you think that it will be way better because you relate to that at the time, then switching to Social Worker because you want to help anyone that you see on the street, then switching to being a stay at home mom because you don't think anyones going to appreciate anything you do. You start cleaning the house and in the middle of tearing apart the kitchen because it was so dirty, you get bored, stop and watch tv.. |

I've been there too. I've been told I had manic depression (bipolar), then clinical depression, then generalized anxiety disorder, and THEN panic disorder, and so on. Still nothing concrete.
