i think emotions are fact, how can you deny how you feel/think/what you believe?
it's one thing to act on them, it's another to suppress them. right now i feel like i am not good enough and i was taken advantage of by a boy. i hate myself. i hate him. these are my feelings, my emotions = they are real (hence, a fact to myself). |

your emotions are yours and they are real, yes.
but they are not fact because the fact is, you are good enough. |

The existence of the emotion is a fact. It is a fact that you feel that you "are not good enough".
The information conveyed by the emotion, however, is not a fact. Like ECHOES said, you ARE good enough. So, while there is no denying that you feel a certain way, the thoughts generated by that feeling may be distorted by the passion of the emotion. |

Quote:
Echoes hit the nail on the head... emotions are real; they are YOUR reality, but they are not facts. You are totally entitled to your feelings and emotions, but don't let them overcome your logic and reality. When you are emotional, this affects you amygdala which controls your logic. You feel like you are not good enough, but the fact is, you are. |
