I am diagnosed with Borderline Personality/Bipolar. I'm extremely frustrated with this illness and I'm afraid of pushing the one person who hasn't bailed, away. My friend says their not going anywhere but I know/feel like a burden. My mood has ranged from fine to depressed to emptiness to not caring, all within the matter of 4 days. I just feel sad. This is with meds. This is my first forum/chat group I have joined. What do ya'll think? Yes Im from the south .

Hi revolution20,

to PC! I can understand your fear and hesitancy to push the one person you feel most comfortable with away. An understandable fear.

There are helpful group meetings, like DBT, to help you understand the way that you mind works. Recognizing triggers, and developing healthy ways to work through the rush of emotions is very helpful. Especially when you let your wise mind guide you through to do what is helpful for you.

Coming up with your own safety net puts the power back in your hands, so you don't feel so vulnerable and dependent on others. That is a good, healthy experience for you as well as re-building healthier relationships.

DBT really helped me get to know myself better. As I was an empty shell before I began. Always relying on others to fill the void I felt inside. But I did discover a few strong & positive personality traits that I do have. 1. I believe in doing all that I can to help others. 2. Nature brings me serenity ~ much needed peacefulness in life. 3. I am an active person and really want to pass these traits along to my daughters.

One benefit of BPD is that the moods do change rather quickly. So we can remind ourselves of this fact when we feel utterly hopeless and miserable with life. These terrible feelings will pass soon. Let them go, rather than obsess over why you felt however. That helps too.

Best wishes to you ~ take care!

Hi Revolution!

I too still suffer with meds and therapy...esp when my husband has to go out of town. One day I can be in despare, and the next lagging, the next somewhat fine. I can also have all of these in one day. I'm bipolar as well and my cycles get messed up almost every two weeks. Welcome to the site. It's the best one I've found. You can get a lot of info here.
