i really dont think im bpd
and im trying to get the docs to see this... but they are having none of it.
im told this is a bpd thing where we refuse to believe stuff.
i think that is a load of old garbage.
i am old enough and wise enough to attune to myself and know whats going on with me, yet i cant get a psych to take me seriously enough
im sooo frustrated

I refuse to believe ANYTHING unless it can be proven. I don't believe anything anyone tells me about themselves or otherwise, I have to wait and let it be seen/proven. So, I do believe it is a trait of BPD. I fit the whole BPD description, so, I'm a total believer, Sorry!

I fit some of the characteristics, but not all of them. I really did not want to believe the diagnosis either. It's a tough one to accept because of how some people view everyone that has bpd

I go by the DSM-IV. It's pretty clear. Either you are or aren't something according to their standards.

No, I don't feel that way. I was reading and discovered the diagnosis myself, and thought it fit me really well. When I asked my therapist what she thought, she agreed and had thought so for some time. She isn't into the label of the diagnosis and just told me to not get hung up on it. It isn't part of my therapy, we don't talk about the label/diagnosis.

I was grateful for the diagnosis because it does help explain on a deeper level why I have done some things in my life and why I can still struggle at my age with things others seem to have worked through years ago. Thank goodness for therapy, which has helped so much to make my life feel so much better.

Some descriptions of BPD are so dry and harsh, and require more introspection and insight than a person might be capable of at the moment. That's why I posted the sticky at the top of the forum. It's a description that I can relate more to.
Thanks for this!

My bpd is in remission. I believe a contributing factor is that I have not been in a romantic relationship the past 4 years. Also I have done a lot of book therapy as well.
