This could trigger you so don't go any further if you're not in a good mood. And I figured I should ask it since ya know...I'm BPD.

The was a question in one of the threads in the bipolar forum that asked why when all the symptoms of BPD are very similar to bipolar, is it that BPDers cannot relate to bipolar people. Assuming you don't have both.

I don't know if that's completely true. I'm sure on some levels no one can really completely relate to someone else (what they are going through). For me personally, I believe I can relate to people with BP to a degree, just like I can with most people that have similar Dxs as me or even mental health "problems" in the first place.

I guess some BPDer was having a black day and not a white day when asked this question. LOL

LOL. I don't know if I ever have white days! I swear I live completely in black thinking. I know that can't be completely true, but I'm guessing you know what I mean.

Here's a question only a BPDer should ask.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

...wow it took me an hour and a half to take the question seriously....so I move on from my dumbass comment above...

the question is pretty subjective and the 'asker' must have reasons for that.
but personally I can relate to most people with mental health issues and not because of their direct experience based on their 'illness' but simply because of the impact all mental illnesses have on our lives. There is alot I believe we have in common in that respect. so I have no trouble relating to bi-polar...amongst other conditions.
This does not mean I will get along with the person or even like them much and whether they will get along with me and like me either. But I don't base my dislike on what dis-order someone has because I decided I won't relate to them! All my favourite people over the years have had some mental health issue or six.

I have been diagnosed with several different things over the years including bp and eventually the medical world settled on bpd, and for me my bpd has bp in it.

yep
Thanks for this!
