I have called 3 effin times to get my meds refilled to no avail. I am currently out. I really like my doctor but this medication refill thing is a mess. How am I supposed to stay stable if I am out of meds! WTF! Seriously. I am stable now, but I decompensate quickly without my meds. Not a happy camper here. I'm almost ready to crack again. So frustrated!!!!!

I usually get a ride from my case manager. I live 40 miles away in rural PA, and don't own a car. So it sucks.

UPDATE:
I'm supposed to call a phone number, leave my name DOB and what I am out of. Well I did that on Tuesday. The scripts were supposed to be called in Tuesday night. I have since talked to the nurse and they are calling in my scripts before noon today. So hopefully if all goes well I will have my meds tonight.

Doesn't your medical aid have a courier service? I used to have my meds delivered, much easier when the pharmacies are so far away...

I would suggest ringing for a refill, about 3 days before you run out, that way you have more time to arrange to get them, and you should just have some new ones straight away.

I do this with all my medication, I can't let it run down, because I'm asthmatic, and inhalers I have to put in for about a week before.

I hope you got them, chandler.

I have been in this place before, too.

I went without for a month and did not sleep for weeks. (sleep meds). it was some darn beaurocratic t hing with an HMO! I could not even go to a clinic cause they asid I "already had insurance".

I was able to get some at the ER and only because that nurse believed me when I told her I really needed some seroquel and was going to follow up with my doc. I did follow up too. (another story). Nurse gave me a months' supply. But after I spent a whole day calling around to find where I could get that refill. What a pain!

Sorry to hear you have struggled so much getting a refill. I would definitely second Girl Interupted's suggestion that you apply for your meds a few days or a week before you run out. That way if there are any mix-ups you still have enough to get by until it is sorted out.

Hope it is all sorted out now!

UPDATE:

I got the seroquel, but the Loxipine has to be prior authed. SO now I have half my meds for the month. Thank's for your support.
