Hey I'm really sorry to hear this. ((Hugs))
Welcome also I've not seen you before. I think the good news is you see your behaviour for what it is now. Are you in therapy to help with the BPD? Don't give up on hope. There is ways of making a mends. I don't know how old your children are, but if there younger in time as adults, maybe you could explain your illness and they may just understand. I hope and pray so much that you find away and get to see you children again. Be strong ![]() |

They say it is... I'm not there yet... But things are calmer and I do group therapy!!
I have hope that things will get better. We were taught these emotions apparently!! So there for they can be changed with hard work. Who says that your to old? It's never to late to try get help. Make things better for yourself and for the ones you love. You are entitled to be happy no matter your age, sex, colour. Or religion. |

I am a year younger than you, have had BPD problems my entire life, never even heard of BPD until this past February, and was only diagnosed for certain a few weeks ago. I understand; it's very, very frustrating. If we'd only known sooner...but we DO know. Imagine the amount of people our age or older who've had issues all of their lives and don't have a clue. Don't give up. Get involved with DBT...there is a free class on Yahoo at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/dbtclass/. I often feel the same way...my life is half over and only NOW do I know, but at least you do know, so now you can fight. Use this forum to give you support and the will. We all have the same issues and help each other as best as we can. It's hard...not going to lie, but there is hope. Don't give up on that.

As for a cure - I dont' know if "cure" is a good word. Maybe it is but I'm not sure. I know that there is a lot of good therapy and meds that can help you, but I'm just not sure if bpd is something that goes away. I think it's more we learn to cope and deal with our disorder and even control it better. The outcome is still a good one though. I just think for me, expecting it to actually go away is just not realistic. ![]() Seek out help, check out the forums there's a ton of supportive people here and a lot of information for you. you can get better and you will, if you want to. Kids are resilient, they can forgive even faster than adults can... hang onto that hope. ~S4 |

Welcome, Jamie.
I am 45 and have bpd, dx'd in 2001. This disorder discourages me every day, but I am a fighter. I will not give up. Carol
