I'm not one to write down goals or anything but I usually have plans in my head for things I want to get done in the near future and further (farther? I can never remember which to use where.. but I digress) out. Anyway some of the things I know I want/need to get done this year:

1. Get debts settled and start building credit again (ruined partially from the separation fiasco with my ex)

2. Purchase a new or used car (haven't decided if the payment would be worth it or not on a new one)

3. Get a more permanent place for me and my kids.

4. Finalize divorce with ex.

And more ambiguously - meet a nice girl that I could have a relationship with - dont' really have a time set on this one lol.

How about you all? Do you have plans or goals you have in the back of your mind that you work on?

i looked it up on dictionary.com (best friend, haha) and it says that "further" is more acceptable in most cases but right, digression and all that...

i have thankfully accomplished many of the goals i have set recently. failed a lot too, but that's irrelevant.

uh....well, i succeeded in enrolling in therapy again, and succeeded in being able to put back a large chunk for savings, and succeeded in paying off my student loan, and succeeded in starting up a crochet group through my church, and we've even got enough that i let my husband buy a brand new Halo 4 x-box 360 because our old one that he's had for years ATE MY SKYRIM!! raaaaaaaaaaaah........

after that, though, my goals are, in no particular order...

~ to move to a bigger house - currently in a 2br, needing a 3br so the kids have their own rooms, since little one is living in the dining room xD

~ get my windshield on my car fixed - is shattered on the passenger side from a fallen tree last May and insurance companies probably won't be too happy about that

~ set up the kids with nurseries since we've never been able to even once

~ get myself a new pair of glasses or see if i can't wear contacts again - been a year and a half and a second baby since my last optometry appointment so pretty sure these headaches and this dizziness is because of my crappy glasses...they don't have earpieces anymore and the right lens keeps popping out if i pick them up wrong...

~ lose weight with my new rowing machine HUZZZZAH which i need to be on right now, still have an hour to burn 500 calories for the day...goal is burn 450-500 a day every day and lose this flab, ugh...

~...........

i thought for sure i'd think of something else but anyway...

so yeah, other than moving to a bigger house and fixing up the kids' rooms, my goals are pretty selfish, but for the most part all the goals that involve the whole family have already been met.

gotta remember that we've been doing okay lately. sometimes i forget. but even when i'm feeling down, i generally remember that things are okay, or are going to be soon, we just have to keep trucking along...

i feel so overly optimistic right now. it's starting to creep me out.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. We need to look out for ourselves too, after all.

As for me, I'm not sure I have any goals.

you lost my attention at "Skyrim" ... >.> That really sucks. I was level 40 and had 50 some odd hours into the game when I had no money and had to pawn all my vid games. Never got it back out and lost my save... ugh. I have been hesitant to start again.. cus it took so long!

but seriously it sounds like you have some good plans for yourself! yay!

My goals or what I want to see happen.

I so want my new therapy to work and I am so determined to make it a success.

I want justice (dad's trial next month)

After trial I want to quit smoking again (would say this is a goal)

Going to try and not be beaten by this BPD (been saying this for 5 years)

I was thinking the same thing about Skyrim lol. I just bought an Xbox and it came with Skyrim. Just started playing...I can see how you'd easily pour a chunk of time into that game. Sucks that it ate your game, Dream

Anyways...I want to lose weight (doctor appointment set up for help with that), keep up with school (working on daily), cut down on my debt (hope to be out of debt next year, except for student loans), and just keep my momentum going. I don't want to get overwhelmed and quit school and/or work. Just trying to stay focused and take care of myself.

Heh. Sorry. It's kind of a family superstition. Every time we say "plan" nothing works out, so we avoid the word.
Good grief, I'm superstitious!
Anyway, I don't think it's really healthy to eat as much candy as I do regular food. I don't want to stop, just cut back.

I have about seven various writing projects I've started and never finished. My mercurial (another favorite word ) emotions always get in the way after a while. Well, I have two in particular that I'm really hoping for success with this year. One is an illustrated picture book that I'm attempting to illustrate myself and the other is a book that's basically a collection of vintage/novelty emails set up as a gift book. I talked to an attorney about it a few years ago and he said there shouldn't be any copywrite issues so I compiled it and have been searching for a publisher for more than two years with no success. I did some research on how to turn a blog in to a book and I'm going to try that route.

The problem with becoming a successful writer is that I don't want any of the fame or notoriety that goes with it. I am a very private person. I've managed to keep my name almost completely off of search engines and such and I don't like the thought of people being able to just "look me up". It was recommended that I use my real name on my book idea blog but I just can't get myself to do that at the moment. Going to go by a pseudonym I've used for various things for forever. With all of that in mind, maybe writing isn't the best match for me. ......sigh.

goals, eeek!
1. I'd like to get off my psc meds. That might take more then a year at this rate.
2. figure out what I want, married or no married.
3. speak my mind more w/ out fear.
4. Just a say it, not ask. (can I go to the store, can I use the phone) instead just use the stupid phone, or say I'm going to the store for a drink be right back
5. Most importantly, my biggest pet peeve and the thing I want to do the most is : Learn how to load pictures onto my album here at PC. I cannot do it and it drives me crazy. Something about a security token. What in the heck is a security token that won't allow me to add pictures. Crazy computer.

Thats my goals, NEXT PLEASE

I hate the idea of goals. I've always felt they set me up for. failure. But what I want is:

to find a new T -- I've been trying and have been unsuccessful.

to move out of my apartment (maybe buy a house) into a place that has some kind of a yard so that I can get a dog again.

to get some RL friends and a social life

I'm past my prime, but I'd still like to have a significant other.

The only way I can succeed at things is to make goals. I understand my goals are sometimes lofty and I often do not succeed in making them, but I feel that without a goal I lack direction and wander aimlessly without a sense of purpose....if that makes sense.

i have 1 goal im focusing on at present and thats getting better, feeling better...i am not worried about anything other than my well being. after i feel like ive got things under control with that, ill start working toward other things. this is more important to me because for me, i have a hard time pursuing or sticking to anything when im in the state/place im in now.

I seem to be able to focus on only one thing at a time. I am NOT a mult-tasker. Right now I'm focused on finding a T and I can't seem to concentrate on anything else until that happens or I give up. Everything else is on hold until I get the current task out of the way.

Goals? Hmmmm, let's see:

1. DBT. I'd just started with it (two sessions in) when I changed jobs and I'm waiting for my insurance to kick in so I can continue. So my goal is to make progress with DBT this year.

2. Join a gym...and actually work out at least twice a week (work keeps me busy but twice a week is more than I go right now!). Considering joining this coming week.

3. Decrease debt. I don't have much (not including student loans, bleh) but I have a little tiny bit of credit card debt from impulsively buying crap that I'd like to get rid of in the next few months.

4. Get some hobbies. I used to be involved with quite a lot and, as my depression got worse over the years I've lost pretty much all of my hobbies and have gotten more isolated from everything. My mood has stabilized so it's time to get back out there and find things to do. I want to be interesting again.

So yeah...that's pretty much it.

goals:

1) eat 5 fruits and veggies most days, whole or in juice or a smoothie
2) prepare healthy meals for my family most days.
3) walk outside for at least 15 minutes most days.
