I read how BPD operate or handle our relationships.... Myself and my current partner have been together for 3+ years....of course not consistently.... These last 6 months I have truly been trying to figure out my triggers...change....stay focused etc. She has promised to be here not leave my side help me through this etc. i told her I don't know if I'll ever get to the "core" of the issues.... Im 28 and at 27 it seemed like my mental state went out the window..I was tired of having to be so strong....I didn't have the strength anymore... I hurt her....ALOT....she hurt me...ALOT....we have accepted that.....but how do you know if they are staying because they really love you or because I messed her up so mentally too....I have no idea what to think....

This is difficult territory. There is no way to tell. All you know is what they tell you, and if you have a doubtful nature, it won't really matter if they're telling the truth anyway. (I can certainly vouch for this firsthand.) How do you feel about the relationship? Is it worth persisting? Are you in love? Is it worth working out? It can be difficult trying to work out core relationship issues when you are, at the same time, working on serious mental health stuff, especially something like Borderline that targets relationships. Are you getting the help and support you need to deal with any of this?
