a few months ago I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. aside from a small paragraph in my college psych book, I had never heard of it. the more I learn about, and discover people who have the same chaos fluttering in and of their heads, the easier I can breathe. I accepted my overly emotional and ridiculously sensitive self years ago, it was that or fight a miserable losing battle the rest of my life. I never fathomed in a million years that there were so many others out there. it is so amazing to find people who don't just tolerate or accept my BPD ways, but actually "get it" and know Exactly where i'm coming from.

a million "thank you"s for not only you existence, but your voice and your refusal to give up

Thank you. I felt much the same way last year. I was in a majorly clingy/pushy codependant friendship with someone. One day, he sent me a link to the DSM with the 9 traits. I know my mouth opened wide....it was me all over. I couldn't believe it. It was almost a year before I was officially diagnosed. I'm glad you've found us and I hope we make a difference.

I often describe my BPD diagnosis as feeling like putting on a warm robe on a cool morning. It just felt right. Finally I wasn't alone & had hope. Now I just have to figure out how to tame the beast, lol.

I have found a sort of peace since my diagnosis. I now know what the issues are and have ways of coping. I am hopeful that once I actually start DBT that things will get better.

cant remember the rest...but I have felt I was searching for something to help pull me out of the abyss...and this forum did it....Its making me fight back.... Its not easy....but I will continue to fight every day....See I am a survivor.....bet you are too!!
Hope you have a nice relaxing evening and wake up to new and wonderful year!! Take care...

I totally feel the same way! Once I read the diagnosis, it fit, and it helps so much to talk to others who feel the same way.
