For those of you who are familiar with me and my situation, here is an update:
I filed a restraining order against my now ex, and filed for full physical/legal custody as well. He was discharged from the psych ward into a 90 day treatment program after 13 days of involuntary hospitalization.
I want absolutely nothing to do with him. Turns out he's a liar of the worst kind, in addition to being a domestic abuser. He was never in the foster care system like he said. He's a con artist.
The horrid woman from Child Protective Services who came into my home because of my ex has finally backed off and won't be opening an investigation against me. She dragged her feet and scared the **** out of me and my family because she took a disliking to me. Glad that's finally over after jumping through hoops to meet her demands when there wasn't even a case open against me. It does hardly seem fair that they came and harassed us, and no one from their agency ever spoke to him even though it was his falt for having sicko thoughts, and for making alligations against me that were proven untrue out of spite.

I'm going to find out today from my therapist about what the DBT team at the county mental health phasility feels in regards to allowing me into the program. and then I'll update in this thread how that conversation went.
How is everyone else doing? I've missed you guys, but have been extremely busy.

I'm so sorry things have been so hard for you. I hope you can get into the dbt program, I know how you were looking forward to that.

Wow that is a lot to handle at one time. Your ex was really trying to do a number on you. I hope you are able to stay strong through all of this and I hope your children aren't affected too badly in all of this.

Hey guys, thanks for all the supportive comments.
I talked with my therapist today. I get to do 4 and a half months of DBT starting February 18. I had alrady done 8 months in the past so can't do the full year according to their rules.
Super excited for that. and excited about something else major in my life that I'm not gonna post about right now, but I will soon.

TBC ~ That is terrific news that you've gotten away from your ex. Thankfully, CPS saw that your son is completely safe with you and closed the case! I am sure that the worker wasn't trying to be kind and thoughtful with you, her entire purpose was to see how your parenting was...for the safety of your son.

Either way, that is now behind you. Congrats on getting approved to start back up with DBT. I hope that you get a helpful grasp on some techniques to help you cope new challenges thrown your way.

Take care!

Woot! You are getting into DBT! I am not doing the full year either - I am doing advanced skills only which is 18 weeks. You will be a week behind me so we can help each other with the homework

I am very happy for all the good news you have in your life.

lol both of my children are female.
but thank you for the supportive words and congrats.
The worker took a disliking to me, I rubbed her the wrong way. but I suppose we are all human and ultimately, I did everything she asked so her personal feelings do not matter.
I'm looking forward to giving DBT another shot, but this time fully commiting to it.
Thanks for this!
