Well, I created a new blog that deals with borderline personality disorder. I want to use it as a platform to help end stigma and the nasty things people say about borderline personality disorder as well as help others who may suffer silently. I want to be a voice that shows people that those with BPD are not monsters, we are not manipulative *****es who use men. We are people like anyone else. I hope that you guys will read and maybe help me with content?
I'm not sure exactly how to get it out there but I want to make videos as well. You know, "ask a borderline" stuff and myths and facts about borderline personality disorder.
If anyone has any advice or wants to follow my blog I would love that.

Hi Atomicc, I was thinking along the same lines. There is a (don't know what to call it) collection of sites called about.com. They are always looking for bloggers. My angle was more look at these people, if they had not told you, you wouldn't know they struggle with mental, health. Again, trying to eradicate the stigma.

I've recently started doing videos (about a month now). I've not been very public about simply because i'm not sure where i'm going with it.

have a good title, a good description, and as many relevant tags as you can think of. people also have a relatively short attention span so less is more. I try to keep my videos 5 - 7 minutes, but have gone well over that. Don't be a bpd guru. There's plenty of them on youtube. My advice is keep your videos about yourself and what's bothering, how bpd may be affecting you on a certain day, vent basically make it about your life so people can see the person and not some well scripted fake ********. Keeping it about yourself, your life speaks volumes and shows realness. If you're having a bad day and want to vent or if you're feeling miserable do a video. Be unique, show you the good and the bad otherwise you can settle for being just like everyone else.

Respond to comments. I've responded to some comments by doing videos. Keep active content like 1 video a week. You want consistency.

Don't get discouraged by low views or low subscribers. Some of these people that do videos on bpd or bi polar or mental illness in general with 10k + subscribers have been around for 6 + years.

p.s. also be sure to ask people to like, subscribe, share and leave comments. Both in the video and in the description.

Come up with a well written description of who you are and what your channel is about. Also be sure to include the link to your blog, twitter etc in your channel description.

You do art.. If you have art that is inspired by bpd do a video with some background music featuring your art.

Atomic,
Excellent idea! There is a need for more blogs combating the ridiculous stigma that is out there about BPD.

I would like to follow this blog, but can you make it so that people can sign up via email to be followers? You could do that on the Wordpress dashboard by going to "Appearance", then click on "Widgets", then look for "Main Sidebar" on the right, and see if you can drag over "Follow blog - via Email" from the available widgets on the left side. That way anyone can enter their email and get notified on any new posts you make; it's much easier.

I would also recommend you to my blog, which is at BPD Transformation | A New Paradigm for Understanding and Recovering from Borderline Personality Disorder

I would love to follow any and all BPD personal blogs. I think it's hard for us because of the stigma. My own blog as well as my forum posts are done under a pen name - for now.

Mine is here.
