Sorry I haven't really been around. My depression has been in a downward spiral. I have lurked but haven't had anything in me to respond to anything.

Today I had a pdoc appointment. We are trying a med change to see if that helps the depression, I am off of mirtazapine and will be starting ciprelex (which DH also takes). He gave me a card for free ciprelex and samples of abilify which will help us as right now we have no drug plan.

Tech can I ask why you came off the mirtazapine?

I (gradually) came off mine recently but that was my choice.. I am now waking with mild panic attacks in the middle of the night.. but my depression is extremely bad.

Idk..

I hope everything works out for you at the pdocs.

I am coming off the mirtazapine for two reasons, the first is we don't think it is working and since I have gained almost 50 lbs while on it I needed a change. I hope the change works, at first it seemed that the mirt was working but since January things have become worse. I am not suicidal but very down. The weight gain has not helped how I feel.

Oh I understand about the weight gain.. Sure I was sleeping like a baby but faced constant hunger all day everyday..

When I first went on them a few years back the mirt worked a treat.. now this time they just don't seem to stop the other intense feelings that creep in..

I need to go back to the doc again.. Im so depressed its just revolting..

Hope it goes well for you..

At least you got to sleep, it did nothing for my sleep after the first week...

And it does sound like you need to go back to the pdoc. I hate depression more then I hate the BPD.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

The weight gain can be a killer. I have to be so careful as my meds give me incredible munchies! I have put on, lost it, put on then lost it again but it is really difficult to manage.

Sorry you have been on a downward spiral

Thanks. I don't need any added weight as I was already obese. Trying to make healthier choices and exercise but it is so hard when you can barely drag yourself out of bed.

I totally understand that! Right now I am doing ok so getting out for a good long walk with the dogs every day. It's not easy especially when you're not feeling well. Don't put too much pressure on yourself right now, the main thing here is that you start feeling better. Then you can look at the weight thing and exercise.

All the best
