My new therapist gave me a diary card yesterday, and wow...I can really see how these were designed for us specifically! It takes into account all of our problem behaviors and mood swings. There's no generic "how do you feel today?" Thank god, because there is never one set mood for the day!

Yeah it's pretty awesome! Hope you find your new T more helpful in terms of DBT and BPD. It's an incredible journey when the therapist really understands both.
Thanks for this!

Hiya, I'd like to know more about a diary card. Is it like a mood diary type thing? I tried one of those before and didn't feel any benefit so I'm hoping this is slightly different because it sounds like you're finding it good! Thanks!

The diary card is a paper that one fills out in DBT. The top section has to do typically with troublesome feelings, urges, and behaviors, as well as medication taken. The bottom half has to do with recording the DBT skills used. The most current one from the second edition(of official books by Marsha Linehan(creator of DBT)) is in this link:

Hope this helps, though not sure it'll be very helpful if you have done or aren't doing DBT.
