Hello again
Today my doctor ordered Abilify and Neurontin on top of the Wellbutrin I was already taking. I'm nervous about taking medicine I've never used before. Does anyone have experience with these meds? Could anyone share experiences or advice to give me an idea of what I'm in for or how to manage them? |

abilify is a great med, i lost 2 stone while on it for 3 months! but i was forgetting to eat and wasn't drinking much fluid either really, also if i didn't get enough sleep i'd feel a little foggy for the day, that's one reason i came off of it

I've taken Abilify for a year and I really like it. It helps to keep my anxiety and paranoid thinking under control. I didn't lose any weight but I also didn't gain weight so I was happy with that.
I've taken Neurontin before too and it worked okay with me. I think it had a few more side effects like dry mouth and dizziness but I got used to it. I hope things work out for you!

I tried Abilify twice. It didn't work for me.
I'm on Neurontin now for anxiety. It works pretty well. |

Abilify has a r-e-a-l-l-y long half-life for me, so I only take it twice per week. It has made a positive difference in my life though. The higher dosage made it more difficult for me to get around physically (I was very faint and weak). Different strokes, for different folks....right?

I've been on Abilify several times but had to come off of it each time because it caused extreme cravings for sugar while I was on it so I was buying a lot of chocolate and birthday cakes from the bakery fairly often which caused weight gain for me.
I don't have any personal experience with Neurontin. After Abilify didn't work out, my dr. put me on Seroquel which does take away my depressed moods and hasn't caused any weight gain so we've stuck with Seroquel. I do think Abilify is a good medicine too. I used to have crying spells every morning I'd wake up and after a few days on Abilify, I'd wake up and didn't have the crying spells. I probably would have stayed on Abilify if it hadn't caused me extreme sugar cravings and cost so much. |

I'm having real success with ability. I maybe do crave sweets but they've always been a weakness for me. I'm continuing to manage that with healthy sweets like fruit, yogurt, and granola. But I finally feel happy and energetic enough to exercise so that helps too. Not sure about the neurontin yet, it makes me foggy
