Hi everyone,

I am really lonely and I wanted to get some ideas for how to cope with Valentine's Day... It hurts SO bad!

Anyone willing to share their coping skills for Valentine's Day?

I wish I had a girlfriend. Someone to hug and hold and go walk with. Someone to trust.

I plan to go for a walk and let myself cry. Listen to music. Call distress center if necessary. Buy myself a treat, maybe an ice cream or cinnamon bun. Wrap in a blankey with teddy bears.

Thanks,
Hd7970ghz

I'm probably going to be the same way.

Was talking with a girl online and woke up to find she blocked me today.

Been single for 7 years now. Valentine's Day is the worst holiday for me.

Hang in there...if I can, you can too. But damn do I want to die sometimes.

I usually do a "single person date night". I'll buy myself something nice, like chocolates, cook a nice meal, relax in my pj's, eat my dinner, take a soothing bath, chocolate, watch a movie or read a book, that sort of stuff. Since I don't have someone else to pamper, I choose to pamper myself, instead of wallowing in feeling alone. It's been said that we cannot be fully present in a relationship if we are not able to truly care for ourselves... not sure about that, but my plan does include a long bath, at the least.

Don't celebrate it, never have and never will.
That's with or without a SO.

Guess I don't have to cope then.

I've just never understood the appeal, if someone is gonna love me they better do it every damn day, not once a year.

It's all just a money making scheme that makes lonely people feel worse about themselves, and I personally hate commercialism.

Just feels like it cheapens love.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for responses.

I am going to go buy myself a dinner even though I cannot afford to. Then I'm going to watch a television show and cuddle my teddy bears to my little hearts content.

Thanks,

I made it through Valentines Day! I had to call the crisis center and broke down pretty good but all is well.

Thank you everyone for helping me.

I dislike the societal pressures that Valentines Day has... It hurts. I apologize to anyone if the title of the thread triggered you...

Thanks,
HD7970ghz
