What do you know about the new discoverings about biological characteristics on BPD?
I heard a lot about nurture in this disorder. How a trauma or abuse in childhood is thought to be the origin to develop a borderline personality. I don’t remember being abused or lived any significant event in my childhood. I only can say that I was and am sensitive and as much I was told off in front of people by one of my parent and I have a far memory when a baby ( I neither know if it was real) about a lack of affection and a lack of feeding. This is a memory I recalled being an adult. I read about brain scanners and how people with bpd has a less active amigdala. Do you know anything else about it? |

I believe that we have a brain disorder of unknown origin. Personally I have several illnesses that are suspected to be brain and or nervous system related including the BPD. I do think that a high percentage of us were abused and that for many of us, the abuse exacerbated the brain disorder which manifested itself as BPD. At the same time though, there are those who just have the brain disorder with little or no abuse. Of course, this is only my opinion and I am not a medical professional. So there’s that.
I hope you find the answers you’re looking for. Peace.
